The intent is to speed the game up.

Yet they'll have 4 hour football games because the man with the red hat spends 90 minutes on the field.

I won't miss it AT ALL. The whole concept of the "walk up music" is totally played out. Why people make such a big deal out of it, I will never know. I never miss it during the regionals and super-regionals when they can't play it. I am sure the free world will survive without it. Great move by the NCAA.

Well aren't you just a bundle of joy and fun!!!!

What a tool. The music isn't for you or for any other fans for that matter. It is for the player. Typically a guy chooses a song that gets him pumped up and/or focused. All that matters is whether or not the players like it or not, not you.

Players don't get pumped up for a walk up song past hike school. If you think they do you never played aports. It's all a joke and they try to be funny with it.

If I'm wrong then Nick Pontiff must go apeshit for Mardi Gras Mambo.

Right, I'm sure you played pro ball, so I'm sure you know how players react to songs.

Right, I guess thats why Clay Harris used to have Click Click Boom and Tyler Hanover had My Time last year.

A batter should not be getting pumped up before stepping into the box anyway.

Pitching is different.

Tense muscles react slower. A batter should be relaxed and focussed. You should have been taught this from middle school and up.

Some of you crack me up with your infinite wisdom on playing sports.

Yeah because a pitcher that is jacked and is overthrowing is a good thing.

Also, if you would have bothered to actually read the post you were commenting on, I clearly said to get pumped/focused which is the exact word you just used.

Thus why they use music, to either relax them (why some use funny songs) or get them even more focused (why some use more meaningful songs). Music doesn't make you more tense genius, but I guess you didn't learn that in middle school

All I was responding to was your use of the word pumped up. Then you quoted me and put these as if to say that it was a stupid statement that batters should not be pumped. Pumped and focussed are two different things.

Most of the ones that have funny songs didn't choose those.

People don't get pumped up listening to music?

Wrong. You quoted my two example of songs that batters use in response to the genius who said the songs were all funny. No where in that did I use the words pumped or up.

It was a stupid statement, for more than one reason also.

Pumped and focussed are two different things

Thanks. So are focused and focussed.

They really know how to take the fun out of college baseball, first the bats which went too far and now something trivial like this
That was not the cause of the delay
Maybe they need to eliminate the pickoff move
