It’s is apparent that most the fans and rant is good with Tony V, McDonnell, and Godwin. Regardless of order I would be excited with any of three.

Luckily we have rid ourselves of contention with Casey and Sullivan. Now we need to do the same with Bianco.

It’s just crazy to me that it seems the AD and the BoS seem to be working the opposite way. Why does it seem the powers that be and the fan base are so far out of sync? The rant is never wrong....don’t they know this.

The BoS has zero to do with the search. Perhaps individual members have opinions, but the board is not part of the process

This is the Head baseball coaching job at LSU.

McDonnell is the only choice if you want someone "young" who hasnt already won a CWS

Reasonable but Tony is still a high risk guy.

Just flat out dumb. Only Corbin has won as much in the last decade. Sully was a HR hire.

Has anyone thought that O’Connor from UVA might be the target. He did coach with CPM at Notre Dame before going to Virginia. Has won a title there with several trips to the CWS.

It`s funny how people read stuff on the net and believe it.
Nobody knows what SW has in mind,he is incharge of this
search.Don`t believe anything you read or hear unless you
see it for yourself or hear it from SW himself.

Well I just threw that in because everyone is saying that BoS were the ones that axed KOS. I know SW controls the search but it has to be Ok'd by BOS.

I agree with this

I disagree here. But we can only hire one coach, so several good candidates won’t be chosen.

Actual success at the highest level of college baseball doesn’t impress some posters for whatever reason.

They do have to approve the contract. And appears they put the brakes on Sully.

If it’s McDonnell why hasn’t it been announced? Louisville’s season is over. I don’t get it if they’re waiting for LSU’s season to be over. Everyone knows Paul is retiring and I think getting it announced would help the team by taking away the uncertainty. Thus, I think it is not going to be McDonnell. However, I sincerely hope I’m wrong because I want McDonnell.

to be fair McDonnell hasnt won the CWS in 15 years at Louisville, but I dont think anyone would be mad at that hire.

I dont get the Osullivan hate either.

I hear ya. But McDonnell has been several times and built that program from nothing to the point that if they don’t go to at least a super it’s kinda surprising.

I think with the talent pool available and the brand of LSU baseball behind him, he’d build a monster here based on what he has been able to do at Louisville.

Yea the O’Sullivan hate is ignorance. Mental gymnastics at its finest to minimize his resume.

I dont know that its him, I just like him. He's pretty young, hes a program builder, and hes won a TON of games with recruiting classes that range somewhere between 20-25th in the nation every year.

But to answer your question, as we've seen with the Brad Davis hire, you cant just rush out an official announcement. I also think, if I were woodward, you should wait until your season is over. I dont expect to hear anything until the season ends.

How do you know which way the AD is working? What is your source of info? Media, TD, gut feeling or do you talk to him?

Maybe SW wants to talk to Corbin and/or Godwin and they want to wait till the season is over?
