Our guys will be facing some of the best arms in practice, which should prepare them for games. Maybe I'm too much of a fan, but I think we will be just fine.

They won't be facing Lange every practice and inning. And each of them will just get a few ABs vs him between now and Feb 19th. And he won't be throwing 100% effort either. Best they'll see for 2 months too.

You might be right, but nobody knows. There is just so much young unknown.

they'll prob start slow, but i love this FR class and we have some JUCO guys that seem to have some great plate discipline. I think LSU will love the Jordan boys as well. Hopefully Deichman hits

Liked the Jordan's last year. Can't wait to see them get more time.

I can agree with this. Hopefully they are hungry and bust their tails and surprise us all.

Will struggle mightily to score runs. The inexperienced lineup will have huge holes in it. It's just the way it is in a game dominated by percentages. Timely hitting will be paramount for this team because I don't think we hit .300 in conference play. Hope I'm wrong

Since LSU was the only team to bat over .300 last season, its a good bet that we won't be able to repeat that this season. I'll settle for .290 with our pitching staff and I think we'll be OK.

.280 total. .271 in SEC. I'm predicting 16-14 in SEC. Bubble regional host.

I heard they brought in Nola to throw a scrimmage to the us and we scored 9 runs on 18 hits in a 7 inning scrimmage.

Just kidding that didn't happen at all but I'm hoping for the best this season. Geaux Tigers!

LSU hasn't been a non-national seed regional host under Mainieri so that would be going against a lot of history. It's all or nothing. That probably puts LSU somewhere else as a 2 seed.

A national seed 6 out of his 9 seasons. That's pretty impressive.

He's the regular season champ. I've always said so.

Any power hitters? Didn't Deichmann lead the state in homers in high school? Jordan boys of Adams? It seemed like Pap has the tools but are we looking at a team leader with around 7 or 8 home runs on the year?

I know pretty much nothing about any of the hitters but was just wondering what to expect.

Expect nothing. Be surprised/happy with success.

Well that makes me expect things. Lange gonna be 3-12 with a sub 1.00 ERA.

Good expectations. When he's 9-4 with a 1.64 ERA, you'll be happy.

HR #'s during fall ball were:

Fraley 2
Papierski 2
Robertson 2
Deichmann 1
Beau Jordan 1

This team will rely on speed and contact hitting to score runs, IMO.

Thanks for the info. But if Robertson ends up leading this team in home runs, well, I don't know what to say.
