Bama Fatigue: Someone from BR called Paul Finebaum this afternoon!
Posted on 1/9/19 at 10:02 pm
Posted on 1/9/19 at 10:02 pm
Caller pointed out that when PF was interviewing a UGA staff member named Griffith, PF asked about how UGA reacted to the Bama loss. PF asked if Smart and Staff were gleeful about the outcome.
Griffith side-stepped the question.
The BR caller said that Griffith should have responded how not just UGA but the whole nation and region is fed up with Bama's method of running their program and how the SECN gives them preferential treatment.
1.) SECN and PF give Alabama preferential treatment and a majority of the coverage on the air time and particularly on PF's show.
2.) Fans of LSU and other SEC schools know that Alabama is providing extras to get recruits.
3.) The SEC Office makes sure that Alabama gets all the considerations, from officiating to scheduling.
4.) How Alabama controls recruiting and maintains its roster is neither good for the SEC nor NCAA Football and it is a matter of time before something will be done to check Alabama.
There was Wally Butts of UGA and Bear Bryant's Saturday Evening Post lawsuit, and the gambling allegations. There were NCAA investigations during Bryant, Perkins and DuBose's tenure. There was the Yahoo Sports story about D.J. Fluker's story about how Alabama paid him to play. This was in the last 3-5 years and nothing came of it.
PF did not interrupt nor did he disagree. He did admit to asking Griffith the questions mentioned by the caller.
I think this call reflects the opinion of many fans who are sick and tired of Alabama's cheating and carrying on as though they can do as they please, a covenant for winning championships. It's time for Alabama to be outed and dealt with. Amen.

Won’t happen. Bama makes the SEC, NCAA, and television networks too much money.

I when someone says Saban is a good coach.
Dude can't coach, but he is: a master of recruiting and getting his entire team eligible, and stay eligible with almost zero turnover going 3 deep with 5 and 4 star players; out of trouble regardless of the law: squeaky clean until NFL time and they somehow become a thug; and being a great deceiver to the dumb frickS who can't see he is a snake oil salesman.
His defenses look horrible when the talent is equal or better to his defenses. We have seen it over the years and the defenses don't just look average, they look god awful.
His protections from friends in high places such as Mark Emmert allow such a dynamic to stay going for so long.
Ask yourself how the frick Eddie Lacy's dumb fat arse could both get eligible and stay eligible at AlaBama? He couldn't last 4 years in the NFL but somehow he lasted long enough in college not getting paid!!
Alabama is a joke.

PF is in the can for Bama but he's probably a true fan of the team and the university. He does try to give a fair shake all around, but just like you and me his heart is his heart. Can't fault a man for that.
Apart from that, Bama may or may not be guilty of NCAA infractions under Saban. The Bear played dirty. Recruited all the best players and landed them, then cut thsoe who were not the best of the best and left them hanging out to dry and unable to play for any team. That's a huge reason that Bobby Dodd took Georgia Tech out of the SEC.
Bear was dirty as dog shite, but Saban (as much as we hate him and are jealous of him) appears to run a pretty clean ship. I've never heard a former player of his ever sing anything but praises for coach Saban. This includes Michigan State, LSU, and Alabama players that played under him as head coach.
Sorry if this short rant was a bit discombobulated. I found the bottle of cheap vodka that my wife has been hiding from me.

Dabo would beat Saban with Saban’s players, that’s a fact.

Alabama is a ROTTEN CULTURE and Nick Da Dwarf is rotten too!

So I think you’re right, but that is by definition not a fact but an opinion

The SEC Network is nothing more than a recruiting tool for Alabama. I only watch if they are televising a sporting event I want to see and that is not all that often. (Mainly baseball online)

College football is big business. Big businesses aren't run fairly, nor are they run justly. They are run for the purpose of profit.
Alabama is the current brand. They will receive preferential treatment as long as those controlling this big business continue to profit from it.
Look what they did to Ole Miss when it tried to take down the brand.
And it isn't just the SEC. Look what was done to Baylor's program when it threatened the brand in the Big 12. Nobody is interested in Baylor having success. It's not good for business. You can add TCU to that list as well.
College football is big business. It's that simple. It is beyond naive to think it's going to be run fairly.

I'd rather win organically then be someone no one respects because they know we are a bunch of frauds doing it by the means mentioned in my other post.
When you can maintain every fricking player every year no matter what while other schools lose players left and right for various reasons, to then see these players go into the NFL and magically become thug life, you raise a brow.
People notice and say they are a bunch of cheating fraudsters. When schools like LSU can't even accept a kid like Eddie Lacy's because his grades are so shitty, yet this bum cam both get eligible at Bama and STAY eligible you just roll your eyes and not your tide.
When you realize the game and how they work as I learned living here in Monroe and how Cam and Hootie both got off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist for their offenses you realize the game and how it is played unlike other schools
But better yet the aura of Saban is where I was focused earlier. He is a trickster. Dude when facing an offense with equal to better talent is not better a coordinator than Mike Collins as ULM.
Facts. Their championships, two marred in pure bias as in 2012 and last year mean very little to my opinion of them. LSU beat Alabama also in 2011 season. So they are as much champs to me as Bama was winning in NO.
Who the frick gets to replay a game after getting beat at home any fricking ways? WTF?

But watch how fast these things change once things start to turn against the evil empire. It's only a matter of time. Question is ....who will be the next darling?

If --- or when it changes it will be Georgia, Florida or Texas A&M - probably Florida maybe A&M.

So you really think there's a huge conspiracy that involves many non Alabama affiliated people, which allows them to dominate? Basically you're saying that the SEC as a whole uses their power to allow one team to cheat in every way possible?

I begin to wonder. Ratings are down and rational fans everywhere are calling “bullshite”.

I like to win like Clemson:).

It is a about money and bidness. But there is always a new flavor to choose from. A big scandal can rock Emmert and force him out. Then there goes Saban's lover from another life and Bama's wildcare. Actually, surprised the basketball investigations have not caused even more discomfort for Mark.
