Edmond Sparks JC guy who has a decent bat.
Plus they have a walk on catcher now too - bullpen duty.

this the guy they signed real late in the process to give us some cushion at that position with Luquette having surgery. Sparks had signed with UGA originally out of HS but then went to JUCO.

There are a few other players who have worked behind the plate at one time or another as well though, like Johnny Dishon and Beau Didier.

they still have 36 players listed on the roster though, so I'm wondering if that last walk on that is still on there will be the odd man come spring time, especially since there are so many other players on the roster who can fill in as bullpen catchers.

What happened with Manny Estrada, I thought he was a lock to make it as a walk on.

i'm guessing there just weren't enough spots. Rosters are limited to 35 players now, including walk-ons and redshirts.

i dont see Estrada on the roster, but he was a middle inf. my friends little bro got cut from walkon tryouts, and overall i think he was better than Estrada or Fury, but i guess Fury has convinced them he can catch. I dont think he caught much at rummel. played 2B from what i remember

yeah, I think that unless something unforeseen happens he may be the last one to get cut. They have to get down to 35 by opening day of the season.
