I would respectfully disagree with this.

I think Nick beat himself while at LSU against UAB and at Alabama against ULM.

I'll gladly take a beating by ULM if it means 3 more NC championships in the next 5 seasons.

Not diminishing those records but a 13-0 record in 2011 waves back.

Miles did a masterful job with that team until the very end, when it blew up. I thought he definitely outcoached Saban in the first game. Take away the last game and that season was a masterpiece.

Jesus, where do I fricking start ???:

* Miles has won 3 LSU-Bama games in Tuscaloosa, Saban has won 2 Bama-LSU games in Baton Rouge (and he was lucky to win those....)

* Stayed eight years in one job.

* Beat TEN quality OOC reg. season opponents:
Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Arizona, West Virginia (twice), Washington (twice), North Carolina, Oregon, TCU (hopefully).

* Told the truth to the media
(Saban lied about leaving LSU, lied about leaving Miami, lied (repeatedly) about taking Bama job.)
Meanwhile:
(Miles embarrassed Herbstreit -Michigan rumor)

* Turned down 4 job offers, 2 at his alma mater.

* Played 13 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS without a bye ('05)
* Beat Texas A&M. Twice.
* Beat Northeast Louisiana
* Beat UAB (hopefully)
* Go to Afghanistan w/other coaches visit troops
* Done videos in his back yard w/his family.
* Entertain the media and audiences.
* Smile

Well, when you selectively leave out important text that was in the original post to match your worldview and make a point, it sort of defines Rantard.

Lose a national championship game.

This delusional thread is pathetic. Saban is a better coach.

Skunk diarrhea.
Saban is 35-5 last 3 years against woefully weak schedules.
Miles is 34-6 last 3 years against far tougher schedules.
If LSU gets ONE more first down last Nov. 9,
those records are reversed and.....
MILES would be getting some of the headlines and accolades, not """""""" J U S T """"""" Saban...

Miles is 3-4 vs Saban, BUT......6 of the 7 games between the 2 coaches came down to the final minutes, even final seconds:
Miles is 2-1 vs Saban in Tuscaloosa,
Saban is 2-1 vs Miles in Baton Rouge.

No other college coach has come CLOSE to challenging Saban in the last 7 years.

Nick never took a school like Oklahoma State who hadn't been in a bowl for six years and winning five consecutive bowls before being snapped up by LSU !

We're considering Arizona, Washington, and UNC to be quality opponents now? Washington was at least pretty good this year, but in 2009 they were garbage. Arizona in 2006 was also hot garbage.

Saban - 4
Miles - 1

I'd much prefer to hang out and talk to Miles. Great guy, interesting, funny, etc...but as far as football, 4 > 1
