That dude should be thrown outta the game. no way is that anything other than deliberate. The runners foot wouldn't even have come down on the base had Coomes leg not been there. This should have been protested. Damn

Yes it was on purpose.

But, what the frick do you want them to protest? You can't protest a play that you conceive as an intentionally dirty play.

You can come out and bitch to the Ump! That was horse shite and intentional in every way.

And what do you want the umpire to do?

No chance they would throw him out of the game given that there isn't any reason for this to be a retaliation type situation.

When you purposely try to injure a player you should be ejected.

Baseball polices itself. Hopefully Lang puts one in the middle of his back next at bat. No doubt it was on purpose though.

If any act has ever warranted an ear hole, that piece of shite move qualifies.

Yes, just happened during a HS playoff game. Ejected. Almost exact scenario.

Then him laughing and talking to the players in the dugout reassured it to me that it was on purpose.

You can't put this on Maineri or the umps. They don't have video. They have no clue what happened

Now, after tonight. It will be interesting to see if he is disciplined by the sec or the auburn coach

I'd bet it was an AU coaching decision.

What? So that's the umps criteria when a runner going down the 1st base line on the stripe and "attempts" tag of the left side of bag, but misses by 8-10" and steps on the upper ankle/calf of the first baseman in full stretch with only his toe on the bag!

One of the most egregious plays in collegiate baseball I've seen in years.

The POS should have been ejected from the game on the spot. In pro ball the dugout would have emptied on that one and probably got his face kicked in...just as a sign of good sportsmanship.

Just Auburn being Auburn.
