It was a sellout. First game I have ever been to where no one was holding up tickets to sale.

where we you looking at ?? there were tickets all over the tailgating areas and parking lots .. i bought two pairs for a great price in the 200 level about an hour and a half before kickoff ... a lot of people got tix out there ... i saw people buying tickets outside the stadium on our way in too ..

how can you count someone that can't fit inside the stadium as attendance ?

Good question. At our game Thur. night a record crowd of over 4,000 more than the stadium holds was announced. I know the ticket guy at the school and asked him how this was possible. He said all tickets sold, whether the fan shows up or not, is counted plus a formula is used to figure out how many are actually outside the fence tailgating but looking in.

Is this standard procedure at some other schools?

i have never been to a sporting event -- superbowls and BCSNCGs included -- where there weren't tickets for sale outside on game day .. i didn't go to the cotton bowl, but the people that i was with said they thought there were at least four times the number of tickets available for sale outside for this game than that one ..

Thank God, we had tickets, but I did not see any tickets for sale other than broker next to Days Inn--200 level tickets were selling for $250 to 300. We went into the stadium @ 4:00 PM that could be the reason I did not see any for sale.

and to me, that is a total crock of shite that jones can even claim that 100,000 shite for that giants game .. he had almost 15K people that couldn't physically fit in the building that watched the giant HD screens outside the stadium .. how can you count someone that can't fit inside the stadium as attendance ?

Cannot agree more. Thats no different than counting people watching a game at champions square part of the dome attendance.

In order to seat 100K +, they have to add temporary seats in the end zones and sidelines, and push the seats closer together as a poster mentioned before. You all know about the complete disaster at the super bowl right? I'll be surprised if they ever try that again. Its BS because they are going to claim this 100K+ capability but never do it. I only know of three times they had 100k-nba all star game which is doable due to the floor seat space, giants-cowboys which is a total farce since everyone was outside and there were no temporary seats for that game, and the superbowl which was a disaster. They have not set it up for big xii championshipss, cotton bowl, or even this game.

Football games will be capped out at 90k from here on imo.

There were some empties, but not many. I had an extra one in the 400 level that wasnt used and sat in an empty one for someone who didn't show in the 100's.

not talking about empties .. talking about tickets available for decent prices outside before the game .. but, since you mentioned it, there were 4 on the row behind us and a seat next to me stayed empty ..
