You mean that you and a bunch of mouth breathing keyboard warriors didn't want? Tell me about all the current and former players that didn't want Orgeron to be the coach.

Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that he had 2 months to vet and find attainable hire

Sp paying Jimbo $60-70 million would have definitely been a better move? Or paying Herman more money than Nick Saban would have definitely been a good move?

How about I just quote you:

quote:

The whole "O just need an elite OC" argument is retarded.

No. We need an elite HC.

So you said the argument was retarded. Check.

You said that we need an elite head coach, implying Orgeron is not one. So who is the elite head coach we need? Herman? Jimbo?

You keep trying so hard and trying to say that others aren't arguing anything. Reality is that you aren't saying shite other than "uhhh strawman" or "yet you can't argue against it" and you know you don't have jack shite in the way of an actual point.

So why do you think Ensminger is not an elite OC?

Why the frick would Applewhite leave the coach who gave him another shot with his Alma Mater for the city and team he spurned as a high school recruit?

What exactly about this process makes Alleva a moron? Simply the fact that you don't think Orgeron was the best guy for the job because he's not the "shiny new toy"?

No, he's a moron for not conducting a real search over a two month period, walking away from the negotiating table when things started to look tough, then essentially proclaiming LSU to be a second rate program while somehow being incredibly proud of it.

Moron is actually too kind of a word for him.

Throw a big amount at Sarkisian. Do it now before the Kiffin domino falls. Make Sark say no.

Bc when you frick trainers on bowl game trips, and it is used in another lawsuit against your Alma Mater they get cold feet about bringing you back.

What's his track record that indicates that he is elite or that he is ready to implement an entire new offensive scheme and develop a QB at this level?

You're trying to go back to your old tired hypocritical argument here and it isn't working.

He turned our season around, learned from previous mistakes, wants to be here, set records, etc, etc.

Do you disagree with any of that?

Yet you can't argue against it

Here is the argument against it and I'll preface this with saying that I DO think the search was a joke and that we should've hired Herman if at all possible.

- O won games with elite talent that he inherited from Miles
- O won games b/c of an elite DC
- O won games b/c he is an above average motivator
- O won games b/c he faced below average teams
- O won games b/c he didn't interfere with the offensive game plan. He let a position coach run the offense
- O lost a game b/c he played better competition vs. Bama AND b/c the O looked abysmal
- O lost an inexcusable game vs UF @ home to a 14 pt dog with the Sugar Bowl on the line. In that game we scored 10 though we should've scored at least 10 more.

Alleva F'ed up and went all in on JF and TH and whiffed.

O goes to Alleva with his sales pitch - our D is insane and I'll retain Aranda
- we can recruit with anyone and that won't change
- LSU has been a shitstain on O under Miles.
- Look what we accomplished with Ensminger at the helm. FKN ENSMINGER
- I will bring in an elite OC to match Aranda and the talent will remain world class

O didn't get the job based on his interim performance. He got it on his interim performance PLUS the promise to fix what was broken during his interim performance which was offense. That is a hangover from Miles pathetic O.

If you assume O got the gig based on his interim performance you say well Ensminger was part of that performance and he arguably did more than O.

But the offense was the problem during O's interim stint and he convinced Alleva that he could do what Miles couldn't - fix it. Maybe by promising to land Kiffin.

** plus Alleva's mishandling of the "search" left him high and dry so O looked more attractive.

O positioned it as Ensminger was my best option in the situation I inherited and we lost to Bama by 10 and should've beaten UF. Let me bring in my guy and I'll have us competing for the west.

We'll see if he can deliver.

But by no means has Ensminger earned an OC position.

I think this guy is better than little Briles. His salary at Tulsa in only $800,000 and he was Art Briles OC at Huston and Baylor. We can give him a substantial raised. Little Briles has only been OC for two years at Baylor. Little Briles hasn't done to well this year.

This is a big reason why Mike Archer was hired. Emotional, irrational decisions like that should be beneath the leader of a top athletic program. Here at LSU that type of incompetence was successfully rooted out by Mark Emmert but is now celebrated again. It's sad.
