they did the same thing for LF7, but at least they got him....then rode him like a mule and still couldn't help the kid, and team, be successful

Fournette was not ridden like a Mule. That is laughable. LF gets 25-30 carries in a game and Miles is riding him like a Mule. Yet Saban runs Derrick Henry up to 40 times a game and he is touted as a Genius.

The point is that it doesn't matter what Miles does he will be wrong with y'all who are in the hindsight is 20/20 club.

You in agreement that it is a good idea to only recruit one recruit for the most important position on the team?

If I am paying an OC/QB development guru $1.5M I need better results than this.

The rumors of Franks decomittment started swirling before the November meltdown when we were 7-0. I am anti Miles, but I'm not stupid. You are stupid.

How stupid can you be? There is absolutely no excuse for the coaches to put the program out on such a limb! I was always concerned that a kid from Florida would be so loyal to LSU!

It's the Coach Miles way - over a protracted timeframe. He recruits the wrong style and wrong personality Qb's, and his Qb rotation strategy is pathetic. Meanwhile, a former Qb named Herbsteit,w who would never accept such a long durated incompetence at his tOSU, cluelessly cannot connect the dots as to why the season ticket holders find it unacceptable. its freakin unconscionable!

Why would any coach agree to this.

If someone wants NO competition, they should probably not be playing football in a power 5 conference.

Am I the only one who sees that type of request by a high schooler as a giant red flag?

His family made the same demand to the Florida staff and threatened to pull the commitment when the staff talked to the kid from Georgia. Florida coaches backed down.

I am always leery of these "commitments" made so early such as Franks.

In addition, QBs have just gotten to be all about instant gratification for themselves all over college football. So many times the QBs simply dont want to compete and if they do compete and lose out they haul arse to perceived greener pastures. Look at Gunner Kiel. He went from commiting to LSU to a last minute signing day change of heartheart to ND to now being at Cincinatti for crying out loud. Look at Rettig. What about Kyle Allen at A&M?
Or Baker Mayfield at OU after leaving Texas Tech?

College QBs have gotten to be such prima-donas. They simply do not want to compete for jobs. They want instant success or leave.

A kid like Franks who is demanding that he be the only QB in the class and then bolt from the school which has made commitments to him shows just how selfish he and his family are and makes me question what you would really have if you had him. As soon as something isnt to his liking he will be gone from wherever he ends up.

Very stupid. Miles has done this over and over again. Zack Lee is another that comes to mind. Everybody remembers Stepen Rivers but Lee was recruited as the star and everybody but miles knew he was going to play baseball.

Then throw on top of it Mikes runs a pro set with a spread QB and you have the abortion that is the LSU QB.

You just knew that when he was the only QB being recruited this was going to happen. To make a stupid decision like this only puts yourself on the burner.

Except Franks had already decided to do it and had been talking to the staff about it before the Alabama game when LSU was undefeated and ranked #2 and there was no uncertainty. Try again.

Gotta wonder if any QB recruit and their family view the HC firing debacle result as little more than Miles and company merely leasing this team for another season. What high profile QB recruit, with our givin position developmental track record, will come without at least the premise of some staff stability?

As far as the only qb...wasn't Shea Patterson once committed to LSU at the same time Franks was...and now when asked about competition at UF Franks says it's OK if another qb recruit comes along.. ..like it or not recruiting is a dirty game...bottom line...check wasn't big enough

All the more reason to find a "gamer" that may be overlooked in rankings but can "ball".

Kid playing for Baylor is a great example.
