this is an arictile about the ok turnaround this year. this article was written before this season and after the ok free fall 2014. it details the changes that stoops took at ok to right the ship and to end up in the playoffs this year without even a conference championship..

Oklahoma went 8-5 last season and turned it around this season.

LSU went 8-5 last season and did not turn it around this season.

I say yes. If there is anything Les Miles is known for it's willingness to change and flexibility.

Hasn't Stoops beaten Bama in the last 5 years?

And it was a woodshed whooping as I recall.

I was thinking I almost wouldn't mind him here, things get stale after a while, fatigue sets in. But he didn't forget how to coach. A change in scenery could do good. But he found a qb, go figure, and turned it around.

People point at fulmer and Mac as a reason to get rid of miles because they drove those programs in the ground, but neither of them just had their best run of recruiting cycles of their tenure like Miles.

If anything stoops shows sometimes you got to keep faith.

OU hasn't played for a title since 04. LSU in 2011. They are way further removed from their glory days.

2 great posts in a row and they'll go unnoticed. I mean, I'm dissatisfied with the season, but damn, our fans just toe the line of unrealistic way too much.

Of course Miles could get us there again. Maybe as soon as next year. As much as I was nauseated watching the three game skid, it was mostly on account that I like this team that Miles et. al. have assembled.

I think they could be special. Hopefully, by some miracle, Beckwith, Hawkins, and Neal stay. I think if we keep those three guys, I'll like our chances next year.

Pretty sure they are a lock to play to be in the playoffs this year. I would say he brought them back faster.

Good article. Here's another one on the same topic.

Some may say that Stoops was lucky in finding Baker Mayfield already on campus, but when you make changes like bringing in Lincoln Riley, he sees things that Stoops didn't. Patterson did the same thing at TCU in 2014 with almost the same results.

The big question remains - will a spread option offense work in the SEC West? Well, if we're lucky, we may find out with a Bama - OU playoff game. Please Lawd, let it be so.
