One projection from SI had LSU taking on Army in the Armed forces bowl in Fort Worth. Army finished 8-3. We never play service academies. It might be a fun game especially if the weather is decent. Fort Worth is a good time.

Just noticed that we actually scheduled Army to play in BR in 2023. That’s a very solid non P5 OOC game there.

Right? I mean lower tier bowl games are hard to get excited for but playing Army is a fun experience win or lose. Only downside is that it’s an outdoor game in North Texas in December. The weather is a total crap shoot.

We still owe them some payback for taking Paul Dietzel.

Yes. I can't think of any other bowl matchup I'd want to see.

Fun fact--ESPN has LSU against ULL in Birmingham. This place would be absolutely wild if that happens. So maybe that would be an interesting matchup as well for the sheer entertainment factor...

I saw that too. First thought was, why not the Nola bowl? LSU opens the 2022 season in Nola against FSU. Wouldn’t be cool to do back to back games there actually.

I think a LSU fans would travel to see us play Army opposed to any other bowl matchup other than the Texas bowl.

The only good thing about going to a shite bowl is we will probably play a team we've either never played or haven't played very often

Anyone else more excited for the bowl game now that we have Kelly and the way that we beat A&M? Had we lost to them and settled for some lower tier coach, the excitement wouldn’t be there IMO.

I can see LSU traveling decent for a 6-6 team. Lot to be excited for going forward. WE ARE BACK MOFOS

Army is a bad matchup for LSU. The Tigers aren’t very good in the trenches.

Don't know how it is going to play out, but the SEC has more teams than it has tie-ins. Means two teams will either not go to a bowl, or will go to one not affiliated with the SEC. I don't know how many bowl eligible teams there are this year. The upside is that LSU may go to a bowl that it has not and may not ever play in previously or again.

I heard something about the possibility of ESPN moving us to
the Indy bowl. I think that would be awesome for Shreveport and North Louisiana. BYU would be a great match up and the atmosphere would be great.
