Arkansas's final touchdown is a perfect example of the types of things

LSU lacks in its repertoire, and of the types of things that are highly successful in the college game.
The Hawgs line up under center, with one running back, then pull the tight end into an upback position in an I formation, signalling a give to the deep back. After the fake to the RB up the middle, Allen gives the ball on an end around.
It works to perfection for a 69 yard touchdown.
The particular beauty of that play is that it doesn't even appear to require a whole lot of practice on timing. Only the TE moves before the snap.
It works because it's DECEPTIVE, not because it's overpowering or highly complex. It only requires imagination.
I never leave an LSU game with the feeling that Cam Cameron understands that what may never fool a fast, seasoned veteran in the NFL just might work against college age newbies.
After Saturday, I would trade Mr. Cameron for Mr. Enos in a heart beat.

Les called it a dispy doodle or some shite. Like it was super creative.
High schools run this.

Didn't we used to do that with OBJ? Sad that this was never returned to the playbook.

I forgot to mention... by trading Cameron for Enos I'd also save about a million dollars per year.

Y'all forget that team has 4 losses
Y'all all would have taken Malzahn as well 2 years ago. Hows that working out?

Russell Shepard's jet sweep touchdown was awesome as a freshman (I think). It's in a load of LSU hype videos and other.
I think we have tried it with Dural a couple of times but do not recall a big success recently.
Paging Trindon Holliday....

LSU runs the sweep pretty often, no?
Dural and Guice has ran it several times this year

It wouldn't matter. Les is in control of the offense.

That team has a ton less talent than we do too.

we saw something similar against miss st. worked to perfection, sans the holding call. really just one of our jet sweeps but it seems to have disappeared. our offense gets more predictable and conservative through the season.

It seems like when LSU tried those plays they develop super slowly. Arkansas made them look so fluid that I couldn't tell who had the ball.

No huddle. We went away from it after it resulted in a quick score. Arkansas' weakness was their secondary and by going no huddle and passing, we could have come back on them. But after we scored using that, we of course stopped! Because frick touchdowns!

the trajectory of both offenses are going in completely opposite directions. OP is pointing out the similarities of both offenses but the differences in how they execute and call their plays.

Agree except for the fact that you're critique is directed towards Cam. We've seen, what, 5 offensive coordinators in Les's tenure and there's been almost no difference in style since 2008. Sadly, that tells us point blank, that it's ALL on Miles.
Do I think Cam would be the best OC in the nation, prob not, but he'd be a hell of a lot better if Miles would let go of the frickin reigns.

With #7 running into the line and drawing the defense in and someone like guice running the sweep around the outside we would be very productive. We could do it a couple of times a game and it would work everytime.

Agreed. However, Bo Schembechler probably wouldn't have used a play like that.

If so, Les was trying to disparage it as something the big boys wouldn't run, in which case I would direct his attention to the scoreboard.

My reaction to that play was just sort of a subtle admiration.
Great play call. Smooth execution.
The Razorbacks have a really good O, and they are hot. I think they will probably try to go to the air more vs. MSU.
