1. More revenue from alcohol sales.
2. Fewer people leaving early to drink.
3. Reduced binge drinking prior to games since people would be able to maintain their buzz throughout.
4. Less alcohol related injuries from pregame binge-drinking
5. rowdier second half atmosphere since people who generally sober up and start being hungover in the 3rd quarter would instead maintain crunkedness.
6. ?

Feel free to add your own.

I'm glad someone finally brought this topic up for discussion.

Many people get plastered drunk before the games because they know that they can't get anymore alcohol once they walk into the stadium and they don't want to sober up in the 3rd quarter, so they overdo it and drink too much in too short a time. This results in injuries. Selling alcohol at the games would cause people to drink less before hand because they know that they can continue to drink and maintain their buzz once in the stadium.

The arguments are self-evident IMHO

There would be beer... in Tiger Stadium.

6. Think of all the entertainment we will get from people bitching about the prices of beer in the stadium.

Depends, to an extent, on the prices charged for beer at concession stands.

Bud and Bud Lite in aluminum bottles, $6-8 a pop

LSU would clean up, more people would stay at the game. There is no reason I can think of for the school not to do this.

Anyone who uses that expression should just punch themselves in the face for abusing the English language.

I dont think a large faction of people are leaving for this reason.

More DWI checkpoints so the BRPD could get their piece. They'd just set up checkpoints down Nicholson and Burbank.

Do like WVU and cut off sales in the 3rd quarter. The beer would sell out by halftime anyway.

Arguments against:

1) Stadium officials will feel more justified in busting people for bringing in their own alcohol, rather than the current policy of basically ignoring it unless you're obvious about it or cause a problem (or sit behind a teetotaling tattle tale jackass in 301). If beer sales are allowed, allowing people to bring their own in = lost revenue.

2) Stadium beer will cost around 9, 10 bucks a beer

3) The average drinking joe will have to shell out a lot more cash to drink in TS.

DON'T LEGALIZE IT

I'd bet they will still try to do something to get theirs.

They could also fluctuate prices based on the opponent. They could make beers $7-8/ serving against bama, but have $2 drafts to get people to come and stay against Sam Houston State.

Hell they sell beer & whiskey in the club suites why not go ahead with the whole damn stadium! Discriminating against the small spenders or what?
