At the end of the day, is the arms race really worth it? I think all of the big SEC schools have sold their souls to the devil (money) in recent years. I am concerned that if there is a major downturn in our football fortunes, or if (God forbid) the whole unionization thing gets rebirthed and changes the landscape of college football, that we will have a bunch of huge, empty, decaying, formerly spectacular facilities.
We didn't need giant video screens or ribbon boards back in the days when the only product of importance was the football, or all that fcking hip hop they pipe in. I liked the way things were in the 80s. The stadium was full. People yelled all game long. I do miss those days, but they are never, ever coming back.

I totally agree, what bothers me is that nobody wants to talk about the "third rail" of college athletics...Title IX. How much money made by the football program is used to subsidize women's sports?
Division I football and basketball are the geese laying the golden eggs that support a whole lot more than the programs at their respective schools.

Ive had 6 tickets since forever, and 4 parking passes since forever.
Last year I told em I wanted to give up 2 of my tickets. They said if so, I would loose 3 of my parking passes.
Im grandfathered in with the 4 park passes, I give up 2 tickets I can only have 1 park pass.................
1 park pass per 4 tickets is the new rule
FFFFFFuuuuucccckkkk em

Smart fans have figured out that getting tickets to select games on gameday is by far best financial option when it come to attending LSU football games.

How many seats are held by corporations?

You have got it backwards actually, the "prestige" of having season tickets has FLOODED the secondary market on campus on gameday, there is very rarely a game where the demand is higher than the supply, which leads to Significantly cheaper tickets. It takes no time really, just on your way in to the stadium pick them up right in front. You can go to all the games for under 200 total for the season (and sit in the lower bowl) There is only maybe one game a year you have to pay face value.
It actually costs more to go to a basketball game since there are so few season tix sold, there is limited supply out in front.

It's stupid indeed. It's not like rich folk in La. just suddenly discovered LSU football and were sitting at the country club having tea and crumpets on Saturday nights during football season in days of yore.

I paid $35 face value for my Idaho @ Georgia Southern tickets last weekend, paid $40 face value for my Kentucky @ LSU tickets this weekend.
We have cheap tickets

Is your family part of the blue hair crew that hold all the primo sideline seats and rarely show up because it's too hot/cold/sunny/cloudy/rainy?

We are quickly reaching the point of diminishing returns. Nascar way overestimated their growth potential and college football is on the same path. I've thought recently that it would be more fun to be a fan of a team like East Carolina.

GO TO SCHOOL. YOU DO NOT COMMUNICATE WELL WITH THE WRITTEN WORD.

Please tell me you didn't graduate from LSU.
The frugal die hards still go, they just don't buy tickets from LSU or Stub Hub.

That is just an excuse ppl use. Since the expansion, I have been able to get tickets for $15 and $ 20 off stub hub. So if they cant affordthat, then maybe tv is a place for them.

If you can't afford them, then you can't afford them. Not fair because you've had them so long? Weak bro. Weak. If you really think that it's not fair, I'm not sure what you think should be done. It costs a whole lot of money to have an elite football program in the sec. Sell them and move on, Senator.

When they built the east upper I jumped at getting tickets in chair back section 634 (now. They are expensive but going to games is my only vice so I save to be able to pay for the 4 tickets. Two of the tickets are in handicapped row C. As long as I can still walk we will continue to go and my family will go when I can't. Many of the people who complain spend a lot of money on things like cigarettes, alcohol, movies, and some things not polite to mention. My point is you pay for what you want most. By the way I graduated from MSU using the GI bill so my kids could graduate from Caledonia high school in Miss. When they did we move back home and bought games tickets when we could get them till they built east upper.

Its not just women's sports that cost $$$, most men's sports cost $$$ and lose $$$ every year.
The way to cut back is this: cut sports. Keep football, basketball, and baseball plus softball, WBB, and gymastics. Keep men's and women's track too. Cut golf and tennis and soccer...
