Are we missing Cannizaro that much or is it something else?

Our pitching has been good enough to have the lead going into the relief innings, but that has not been the case most games. Bats were hotter earlier in the year, but seems to have cooled. Any ideas on what happened? I'll say it for those of you who insist - "just baseball" But, it seems like everyone has cooled at once....that's not normal "just baseball."

Cannizzaro is the big piece, but we need more pop in the lineup.

What we're not missing is Paul's ego and the stupidity our AD had for extending his contract so he can't fire him.

I think people overrate how much impact a hitting coach can have. Not saying it isn't important, but a hitting coach isn't going to add a run a game to the averages.

This team doesn't seem to have the chemistry former teams had. The desire and want to win and improve doesn't seem to be there and the hitting approach is inconsistent.
Does anyone feel there is some internal struggle going on?

It certainly appears so. It has been obvious to me since the Minute Maid series that this team is missing something.
This team is not in a hitting slump. They are not being coached right.
Add to that, the chemistry just isn't there.
What is really concerning to me is if we can't win with a team of Lange, Poche, KRob, Freeman and Diechmann and Papierski, what happens next year ?

Alex Lange's record is 3-4. He has been very inconsistent from weekend to weekend. His performance is ONE of many reasons we've lost 11 games.

Bats have gone silent too many times, in close games, even against poor teams like Tulane.

Our bullpen has blown a game here and there. And it has been depleted with no Cartwright and Norman.

Our fielding has been very good MOST of the time. The few times it hasn't been good have hurt us.

We have not "put it all together" at the same time in important SEC games so far.

this is an understatement. our guys are excelling in swinging at poor pitches and hitting weak ground balls. we hit with no authority.

Against Florida and TAMU, Lange gave up 3 runs in 15+ innings.. He has def struggled but our offense has helped him none.

Meh, we weren't really that good last year, and now we have no pitching.

Maineiri has been recruiting these punch and judy hitters for year, to no avail.

Thank you. I said this last night. Hitting is 90% talent. Hitting coaches have minimal impact.

It's PM and the amazingly pitiful recruiting. Multiple Non-aggressive 5'6" shortstops can't win in the SEC.

WRONG, pitching less than ok. Hitting is worse. Can't win with 50 5'6" shortstops.

3 of Alex's last 6 games have been ugly (TCU, UGA, and Arky). Granted he battled last night. But when we needed him to be dominant, he wasn't.
