Are we leaving runs on the bases?

I'm loving where the pitching is going. Heck, we hit the shite out of Vandy the first game; but it always seems like we have a guy on second allot; and get caught stealing or in a rundown.

What are we doing wrong that we can't pick up a few more runs a game? 2 more runs/game would be huge for this team.

It was bad base running and having a true freshman dh with bases loaded in a critical part of the game that hurt us today. Luckily we did enough to still win.

Not complaining at all; I'm hyped about the potential of this team; but it seems we are leaving runners out there.

Yeah not opposed to giving the kid a shot there but that seemed like Romero time to me

Bad baserunning that inning no doubt, followed by bad luck the next. Our pitchers really dug in and earned that win.

That freshman was in the same position that he was in last night against Bama and delivered. it was a decision that didn't work. That happens.

Definitely Romero time but Pawl kept the lefty matchup against the righty anyway

And we should all be ok with forcing the throw at home at getting thrown out from time to time but getting picked off at 3rd by the catcher and then at first is inexcusable

I don't blame Freeman in the play at first 99 times out of 100 that ball is going to the fence this one just happened to catch the umps foot.

Sending baserunner home with NO outs was a bad decision by the 3rd base coach late in a 1 run ball game. You could clearly see the baserunner stopping to avoid getting hit by the baseball and making sure ball got through the infield. That decision did not cost us the game but it was unnecessary. I like the aggressiveness in general but not in that situation. No reason to let Vandy off the hook.

We are killing too many runners with poor 3rd base coaching--- Cain needs to get back in the dugout-- Cannizaro needs to coach 3rd NOW!!!! It's going to cost us dearly, if we don't .

Much rather my hitting coach in the dugout with the hitters. Reid being picked off at third is not Cain's fault that is Reid's. He shouldn't have sent him home on the Freeman hit. Most of the time players are getting thrown out at third is on the player with the green light.

Sending runner home when clearly held up avoiding interference.
Getting picked off at 3rd by the catcher.

The rest is just how the baseball bounces sometimes and the bright side is the timely hitting seems to be improving somewhat.

this complaining about complaining is getting old. tiger fans have a right to criticize certain aspects of the teams performance (and coaches). certainly some of the comments are over critical and picayunish but MOST are well intentioned. it is the small minority that wants to fire everybody associated with every sport at LSU.

here's my complaint about the LSU BASEBALL TEAM. who the frick teaches base running and coaches the bases SUCK! this is the rant. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE ON frickING PROBATION AND BE FEARFUL FOR THE JOBS IF THEY DON'T TURN THIS shite AROUND. it's to the point of outright embarrassment how poor our baserunning is.

mark my words; this resurging team will die this year as piss poor baserunning will kill them in the end. and IT ISN'T GETTING ANY BETTER.

I agree w/ your first paragraph.

As for the base-running last night my only real complaint was Reid getting picked-off 3rd. That was bad. The Freeman thing was a fluke.

Reid being sent home was not the best judgment. I think part of how we're going to have win games across the season is play aggressive on the bases and force mistakes. The Vandy CF (great player) made a hoss throw. However, Vandy has made a lot of errors. Can any of them be attributed to 'perceived pressure' from us?

Absolutely we have lots of baserunning blunders ..Our 3rd base coach certainly isn't helping things either...

the runner at first getting picked off wasn't a fluke, imo. BUT, my complaint isn't just about last night. in fact, if last night was the first time it happened I would stand mute but this crap has being consistently occurring all season. getting the first out at 3rd on an attempted steal or stretching a double and running home on a grounder hit to the left side of the infield (playing in) is what i'm talking about. I realize we need to be aggressive on the bases but there is a limit. quality teams we play are ready for it. a catcher piking off our guy on third is piss poor anyway you slice it.
