The OU fans were horrible before the game and then karma came right back at them after the loss and they couldnt handle it.

Ohio State fans on the other hand were great before and after the game and had no issues with our fans.

You look at the vast difference in the experiences Ohio State and OU fans has in the exact same situation/setting with the same variable (LSU fans in NOLA) and one has to conclude the issue stems from the Oklahoma fan base.

Oklahoma fans before the game thought the game was just a formality and they had already won the title. Its no wonder they have one of the biggest cases of collective sports butthurt of all time.

Its odd how in two decades of going to LSU games I have never seen stuff like this, but I read about it from opposing fans on the interwebz after every game when the visiting team loses.

Even more odd, when the visiting team wins, LSU fans were great!

I agree. The OU fans were HORRIBLE before the game. I never saw any over the top hazing of the OU fans.

I just moved to Dallas a year ago and if I even mention LSU around OU fans they instantly start complaining about how terrible LSU fans were at the BCS game. Ive never heard so much whining and butthurt in my life.

Most humorless fanbase I've ever encountered.

I've never seen so many rednecks with scowls on their faces for the entire time they were in New Orleans, both before and especially after the game.

Agreed. I'm an LSU fan/alum but I've very rarely encountered OU fans in the context of anything having to do with LSU or 2003. I've read and heard all that, however.

Even extracting LSU from the equation, they are sensitive, humorless, entitled, and up-tight. I posted earlier, they are, IMO the most sensitive fan base in America that I've ever encountered. Honestly, I've had more fun with BYU fans than OU.

I was there. My ex-wife and her brother-in-law's group were absolutely ridiculous in their actions. Screaming in faces of OU folks just minding their own business. Drunk as all get out. I spent the night before the game and the walk to the game apologizing for my then wife's actions. I should have known then, seeing her actions, that i made a huge mistake marrying her.

Clearly that's not something to be proud of. I'm not offering the "they were asking for it" as an excuse, but OU is still a terribly sensitive fanbase.

I was not there but I assume it was kind of a perfect storm--sensitive, joyless, entitled fan base in the unfamiliar home of a raucous fanbase excited to be there for basically the first time. The LSU sharks sensed blood in the water, and it just evolved.

OU fans were awful. Unfriendly, snobby.

Ohio State fans were pretty cool.

After living in Oklahoma for two years, I gathered one impression when I brought up I was an LSU alum: They are jealous, butthurt individuals about LSU and Louisiana as a whole. They were incredibly upset that the three opponents in the BCS championships they played in had "home field advantage" (In quotes, because they forgot they played USC in Florida), and have a deep belief they should have won the game (they need to check the stats on that one).

They're also closet Texans.

This is how I remember it. What might have started as an attempt at friendly shite talking would end up in a near brawl when an OK fan took something personally. Plus you have to remember the state of LSU football at the time. If the game were played today I don't think it'd be the same environment.

I lived in Oklahoma for a while and OU fans are the worst I ever met. I had an OU fan employee that told me OU would crush LSU 77-0, like they did A&M that year. He laughed when I said I thought LSU could win but it would be close. That pissed me off so I told him, if OU wins then he could be the boss for a week. If LSU wins I'm going to ride the hell out of him for a week. He never showed up to work after the game, and never even picked up his last check LOL.
