Why? There could be so many things to happen that would cause him to leave for personal reasons.

Unless things changed, i thought you have to maintain full time student status which means 12 hours per semester, right?

It could be a death in the family for all we know. Why don't we wait and see before speculating?

if it was a family death, they'd come out and say it because there's nothing negative about that.

The lack of transparency on this one is what is inviting all this speculation. But you have to admit that being all cryptic is usually because whatever happened is quite bad and they don't want it made public.

pretty sure you just have to take and pass a requisite amount of hours over the course of the school year but there is a minimum requirement too each semester, and I'm about positive it's less than 12 hours. You also have to have passed so many hours with each passing year, basically be one pace to graduate within 6 years or something. I know a lot of players will take a light load in the fall and then load up in the spring and summer

Only people he needs to answer to is family and coaches. Hope we never find out and he ends up back on the team come fall practice.

I agree, but, like it or not, he's a public figure and being silent as to the reason invites speculation, like we're doing here.

Not necessarily true. I can think of several different scenarios where they would not come out and say it.

Give me a break, dude. Maybe he wants to keep personal loss personal and to himself.

Not everyone lives their life like it's a bored housewife's facebook timeline. Some people like to keep stuff private, believe it or not.

The suspension last year doesn't help the speculation.

*IF* he was suspended for A&M for drug tests like I've read multiple places, that would mean at least 2 positive tests

Next would be a year suspension by LSU's rules

*MAYBE* this is a creative way to get around that

So the onus is on Key to refute bullshite rumors about why he is taking a leave of absence for "personal reasons"?

are you people really this dense?

Arden Key owes me nothing. But he's a big name and a big-time player, and his leave of absence is big news in our little corner of the world. So if he doesn't want to make the reason public (which is completely his right) that's fine.

But doing so invites speculation. That's my only point.

Your lack of restraint during these "speculations" and issue with allowing unsubstantiated rumors to fly our of your mouth leads me to believe that you suck dick.

Its just the only thing that makes sense and its the rumor. So we will just move forward with that narrative.

And that's certainly their perogative.

But when you choose to do that, IT INVITES SPECULATION!!!

If it's a death in family you will know shortly. A serious family illness is a different story.

The age of needing to know everything right away has left people little room for privacy - even when it's warranted
