Anyone wonder why they didn't go for 2?

When score was 28-12 and Syracuse scored, I was surprised they didn't go for two. After TD score was 18-28. Make the 2-pt conversation and you can possibly tie game with one TD/2pt. However, miss the 2 pt conversion and you are down by 10, meaning you need a TD and FG to stay alive.
Kicking the PAT made score 19-28.... down 10. Meaning a TD and FG still needed.
Seems the smarter call would have been to position yourself where a single TD keeps you alive.

If you score a TD that gives you psychological advantage, you can lose it if you don't convert.

I think this was a game loser for Syracuse.

That and if they wouldn't have committed half of all those penalties they would have beat our arse

They probably figured that the way they were tiring out our Defense and moving the ball, they would have plenty of time to score and didn't need to go for two.

Realistically if they would have caught that pass in the 2nd quarter that would have been a touchdown, we would have lost that game. Usually when people say "we were one missed catch away from losing" it's BS but in this case, it's absolutely true.

They should have. Especially when you're on the road against a team that has way more talent than you. It was a terrible move. They didn't play to win there and it was weird.
