Anyone who wants Maineri fired is borderline handicapped.

Does he piss me off with some of the decisions he makes? Sure. Is he an a-hole to his players? Probably.
The dude KNOWS baseball. He's a great coach and a great fit for The LSU. Last year we were beat in the supers by CCU (CWS CHAMPS), a fricking amazing hitting team. If we don't get matched up with them (let's say they are on the other side of the bracket) We probably, at minimum, win 2-3 games in Omaha.
He consistently gets us in Omaha/Supers. That's like getting LSU football in the top 5 every year and making the CFP every other year.
When we played TCU in Omaha, I don't like blaming it on one player but we all know who fricked that game up. It wasn't Paul. We win that game, we more than likely make it to the CWSCG.
Bregman's freshman year- our best hitter, not going to name names, was 0-8 and hit into multiple double plays.
I will admit I don't like the hire of Gibbs for hitting coach. Paul has said in the past that he doesn't value hitting coaches, a kid can either hit or he can't. This is the only gripe I can think of. Does he deserve to be fired over hiring Gibbs? frick NO. We let JJ stay in BR for 5? years and he didn't do shite. Paul has won a NC and been to the equivalent of multiple elite eights.
TLDR- You are dumb.

Damn near every team in the SEC has equal talent to LSU in baseball. Parity in college baseball is at an all time high.

If this team doesn't turn around and make a deep run, I think his seat should certainly heat up. I agree people calling for his head at this point now are a bit off-base. Puzzling in-game decisions and disappointing post-season performances notwithstanding, you don't fire a guy who earns a top-8 national seed 5 years in a row.

Have an upvote Poncho. LSU fans are just spoiled brats when their team isn't winning and then they want their coach fired right away.
Mainieri will find the right lineup and just let the kinks unfold. Besides, we have 2 outstanding pitchers for the Supers to get us to Omaha. Hitting will come around.

After all these years Ive learned to ignore the 75% of TD posters that are always going to bitch and complain NO MATTER WHAT IS HAPPENING. No way Manieri goes anywhere right now. Still a great coach and recruiter!
