Anyone know if the football team will be switching to the new Nike uniform template?

Or will they stick with the old template and the discolored, plastic collar stitching?

Old template:

New template used for throwback unis:

He's talking about the Nike plastic flywire collar stitching. Not the uniform itself and we won't know until the season starts.

I didn't mean change the look of the jersey, just the template of the jersey itself.

Like the Mach Speed template circa 2015, which a lot of teams like Bama, Oregon, and Florida State switched to.

LSU is still using the template from like 2013

I would prefer we update as well. Those uniforms always get a new improvement, like being lighter, more sweat and sun resistant and improved breathability. Not saying it creates and physical advantage, but our players deserve the latest technology and innovations on the field whether that be Helmets, uniforms, cleats or whatever.

I saw someone mention previously that there was an issue with the latest templates and the shoulder stripes. You'd think Nike could figure out a way to make it work.

Can you not comprehend that we're not talking about the colors and styles of the uniform but the material and the way the jersey is made? If you haven't played ball in the past 10 years I wouldn't expect you to understand .

We finally partnered up with Under Armour my Sophomore year of high school and moving from a heavy arse cotton polyester jersey to a mesh spandex one was fricking amazing . We're only saying that we need to move to the new Nike template which usually gives players a more comfortable fit. Is modified for more flexibility and intense climates.

LSU has too big of a football program not to move to the newest and greatest. I doubt they will though for some silly reason. We'll be stuck with that stupid flywire shite.

That newer template has a lot more mesh holes on the lower back and side and also on the pants leg. That definitely helps with releasing heat and providing more cool air. Playing down south early in the season that's very beneficial. Those Gold jerseys LSU wore in particular and their pants often hold a lot of sweat. Of course the lighter colors will be more visible with the sweat but the point is that more heat is being trapped which leads to more cramping from the players. Especially the players with more Dense muscles like Fournette.

I have a feeling that coach O will let them switch the uniforms up a little, assuming he can make those calls

I've been a fan of some of the new unis they've worn (all white, purple/white) but I'd love to have that gold uni included permanently. Make the annual gold game a throwback to the old gold uni every year.

I think it'd be awesome if we rocked something like this every now and again. Nothing too crazy, just a little old school.

I don't think everyone is on the same page here. OP isn't talking about team designs. He's talking about the actual uniform's material design.
