Eh. they played much better today. lot of youth and inexpierence due to coming back from injury.

I think this defense will finish in the top 30. just got to keep improving the offense.

They played tough today. UF had been running all over teams the last few weeks. The D has done enough to win all but one game. Not great play but with any offense we are 5-1 after today

Out of seven newbies that replaced the seven players we lost to the NFL, those are the only two playing close to the players they replaced. All the rest of them haven't played nearly as well as the players they replaced. However, it's all coach O's fault. If he were a better coach, his predecessor would have left him better players. Therefore, all our problems are due to the fact that coach O isn't a good head coach.

yep. the defense doesnt trust the guy next to them to do their job.

it was glaringly obvious during the outside run play early in the game where arden key started the play in a great position to contain the play to the inside where 2 guys were in position to make the tackle, but then key inexplicably also ran inside because he didnt trust the guys inside to make the tackle when he saw the handoff, then the rb ran right where key was originally standing and the play was designed for him to be for 11 yards. all because he was worried about the guys in the middle not making the tackle. Aranda is proven to know wtf he is doing, the players need to do their job not try to improvise what they think they should be doing instead

Yes, I think it's our biggest issue.

I think it will continue to get better. I do think Aranda is the guy to take it there.

I expected it to get better faster. That's where my disappointment is. Even allowing for some major depth issues, especially on the DL (which is the key to the whole thing).

I wanted it to get much better much faster.

Yeah, I'm super worried that they gave up 16 to an SEC team that they gave up 16 to last year and lost.

Coaching them up and scheming to their strengths is obviously too difficult. The only way to get them to play better is by recruiting and blaming everyone else for being inadequate.
Am I doing it right?

You can see the inexperience. Gap discipline is an issue. They often run themselves out of plays. That being said, it is improving. If Lawrence and Alexander get healthy, Key gets in shape and Herron comes back they will be much better. The young guys are learning, but they better learn quick. It's only going to get harder.

No. They are inconsistent but there is talent to work with and I believe Aranda will whip them into form.

I'm worried about offense.

Our OL sucks arse.

Our QB is definition of game manager.

Guice isn't himself.

Our WRs are the worst I have seen at lsu since Hallman era.

We have no depth.

I still don't believe in Canada. Not against him, just not sold on him.

It's a huge part. They made Fitzgerald of Miss St look like a Heisman candidate and could not stop the bulldogs. They also let Cuse and Troy march up and down the field. Even when they do force a punt it's after the opponent has flipped the field and the O takes over backed up against the goal line. When LSU went up 17-3 we had a chance to put the game away and the D let Florida drive for a TD on the next possession. It gave Florida new life.

We need the big 3 to get healthy and step up. Key, Alexander and Lawrence had one tackle each yesterday and combined for 1 QBH.

Each unit helps the other. Both have to step up.

The only thing manages to do is become a liability in passing situations. He's not a game manager.

I said this yesterday. There was one series yesterday where the entire front 7 played the wrong gap every play. I'm starting to think the defense had just as many communication issues as the offense.

You can't compartmentalize offense and defense. They both factor into each other. If Canada believes the D can make stops, he will open up the offense more. Aranda may be more willing to take chances with blitzes if he believes the O can score.

Obviously coordinators are most concerned with the talent of their own personnel but the good ones adjust to their counterparts.

There was some horrendous tracking. We still have problems with the short passes. I didn't see that change last night. Florida just doesn't have the tools to take advantage. Any team that does will move the ball on us easily right now.

They did but it is concerning that they miss so many tackles. Also the many times a back carries 2 or 3 of our tacklers for extra yds. Don't know if its strength or technique but that won't cut it as they go forward. I don't see the safeties coming up to make a tackle. They wait for the back to come for them and get juked for extra yds. Clean all that up and they will be pretty good.
