I'm having a serious attack of LSU baseball withdrawal today.

Am I alone?

Saw PM about an hour ago at the chimes with his wife, thankfully it looked like everyone was leaving him alone.

Glad to hear that.

He deserves some "alone" time with family. The guy is the exact opposite of Laval when it comes to public relations with fans (not to beat down SL). PM is the real deal, IMO.

No, you are not alone. Omaha seems like a long time ago now. What a season!

I'm currently having football withdrawls in the worst way. My labor day weekend trip to Seattle can't get here soon enough!

I wouldn't call mine withdrawal as much as reveling in victory. Every time I think of baseball I smile a little.

I feel your pain. I was up there the whole time. My wife and daughter were with me for 8 days and they took no prisoners in the Old Market while shopping!

Here's a little something to let you down lightly. Check out this great book: "Glove Affairs: The romance, history, and tradition of the baseball glove" by Noah Liberman. It's published in 2003 so some of the pics are dated re: the various players' team affiliations. TONS of pics, explanations, stories, history, etc.

It is so much fun and will absolutely make you smile to think about the wonder of baseball. Eases you through these hot summer days.

Chapters include your first glove; the history of the first gloves; taming the beast, or breaking in a glove; glove repair experts; the science of the glove; weird tales of major leaguers and their gloves, etc.

You'll be happy you own this book and you'll never watch a player cradle his glove again without thinking about these tidbits.

Enjoy.
