The DLine gives me concern. Even our 2nd and 3rd guys should have mauled that offense. Instead, our Dline allowed sustained drives.

Fact is we are missing some quality depth right now. With Mills and Bower out it just exacerbates it. Now there's no excuse to give up what we did to EMU even with those guys out, but this defense just isn't as deep as we're used to. Coach O and Steele have to rebuild our depth the next couple years through recruiting.

We've simply lost too many guys early to the NFL on top of having to kick off so many guys (potentially quality players like Valentine, Robinson & LMFAO).

The 16th ranked defense in the country and probably end up being top 10. We have bigger problems

I really see no issues except when you get past the starters. You guys act like emu ran ragged on us. Our special teams and offense gave them very short fields to work with. They got 14 points off that.

Yep. this is the worst kickoff coverage i can remember from an LSU team. They need to keep Gamble out there and just tell him to kick it from the uprights and not worry about hang time.

Given up 19, 21, 22 & 24 points to 3 of the 4 teams being offensively inept. Now put the 1 TD EMU got against our offense, that's still 14-15 given up to EMU.

Fact is this defense is not dominant and stands a good chance to struggle against teams like Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Sure, you can say the passing game and even special teams are bigger issues, but the defense is going to cost us a game this year, if not two or three IMO.

The defense has no leaders yet and is virtually new playing together...we make expected plays here and then can't stop anybody....I watch every position and see many tackling, angle, read and just getting whipped at times issues....e mich sucks balls and they were moving the ball only because of lsu mistakes that need correcting...problem is, those issues been happening since game one and film time and practice time do not seem to correct the same problems each week on d...florida, bama, ole miss, arkie, atm will all roll up 3 tds or more againt lsu...if lsu doesnt outscore their opponents...it will be a tough second half of the season

This. Early entrants to the NFL aside, it's looking like LSU for the most part whiffed on the 2012 LB class and 2013 DL class.

There is a very noticeable difference once Lacoture/Godchaux leave the field as well as when Beckwith and (less so) Jones are out. There seems to be very little room for error with the front 7. The DBs have been fine. Although it looks like Thomas is struggling some. When there are big plays in the passing game it's generally he and/or Adams that are looking at one another wondering what went wrong

I feel Jalen solidifies the top of Defense an I feel Toliver should be covering the best wr once we get into, the meat of the schedule this kid is electric! I feel we been vanilla thus far I think Steele has a few tricks up his sleeve towards the end of season stay tuned!
