Anybody else rooting for Chris Davenport?

He came in as a highly touted 5-star DT & for whatever reason it didn't work out there. After being asked a few times, he sawlloed his pride & switched to OL. I've seen a little practice video of him & he looks better suited at OL & actually looks like a legit lineman. Some kids would've just faded but he's fighting & learning how to be an OL in the SEC. I hope he gets some mop-up duty to prepare him for a position battle next year. Faulk goes pro, L'aell moves to LT, Davenport at LG? Vadal has RT locked down, or maybe RG, either way he's starting. What says the Rant?

HELL NO!
After what he did! Screw that guy!
Of course we're pulling for him man, he's a great tiger, couldve gone anywhere in the country out of high school and came to LSU. While DT didnt work out for him, maybe he'll get a chance in the NFL somewhere on the line. Either way, good of him to stick around as long as he has knowing what the expectations of him were.

man, I've forgotten about some of these five and four stars on the back end of our roster

I pull for all players on LSU's roster
I don't get the I like this guy over this other guy stance
it confuses me.

It is funny how "we" tend to monitor the progress of these 5-star guys. Or we at least talk about them more.

I believe what the OP means by "rooting" for him is sympathizing for the guy and hoping he bounces back because he was a top 1 or 2 DT in the country and it must be hard to not be able to significantly contribute for 3 years. Nothing to do with hoping he succeeds more than other players. That said, yeah I've been hoping he keeps his head up and gets a chance to start one day because he's got a lot of talent

That's a better explanation, thanks friend. And I'm not pulling for him over another player. He is talented & maybe a Carnell Stewart type senior year can provide the scouts w/enough game film to give him a shot. And of course I root for every tiger

I was kinda hoping he'd go back to DT and lend some bulk to that group

pretty much says it all....plus, ya gotta respect a guy who comes in star-hyped yet still has the humility to accept advice from the staff.
geaux Chris.

Miles is raving about him. He will be in the rotation

He's backup LT right now. Hopefully he can start at one position his Sr year.
