Any reason why Tremont Waters would not come back next season?

There shouldn’t be. He’ll get the chance to be a superstar next year surrounded by a lot of talent on a good team, and (this is a long shot) he’s only 18 and he may grow another inch or two and improve his draft stock even more. He doesn’t really have anything to gain by leaving this season. The amount of money he could potentially make by staying far outweighs the modest amount he’d get this season, even if his financial situation was hypothetically bad and he wanted to go pro right now for the $$.

I would say his slight build is more of a factor than height. There is a handful of great players his height, Isaiah Thomas and recently retired Nate Robinson came to mind. He has much of the skills they did, just thinner.
These players and several other were much thicker and stronger than TW. He needs to put on some weight so he is able to take the pounding that will come from the style he plays. I have to believe the pounding he took going inside this year were the reasons for the several bad games where he really got pushed around when he went outside.
Also, another positive is that he will have more and better weapons to pass to ball to so he can be more selective about taking the ball inside.

He'll probably never be an NBA starter. He has a NBA range shot and above average quickness. His height will keep him from max potential. He can't really improve much. He could leave at any time, because of that. As a rockets fan if he was like an Aaron brooks in the NBA? That would be awesome. But I think he was a late round pick as undersized and quick even though he averaged 20+ at Oregon his last season. Even patty mills could be a nice career type. Enjoy him. He's a great college player

I had a friend that went to LSU and tried playing professional. Eventually went overseas. One thing that seems to be hard to grasp is how hard it is to make an NBA roster or get drafted.
There is 60 spots a year drafted and maybe 30-40% ever see significant time on an NBA roster. It’s quite astounding.
If you’re gonna leave early and you’re not a superstar, sure bet, top 20 pick, you have to have some serious balls. The domestic risk is just so great without understanding you could see yourself playing in Latvia if it doesn’t work out.

0% chance he is going pro, he wants to play with the guys coming in at least for 1 year, but I feel like he'll be a 3 year guy at minimum.
Being 5'9 is really tough to declare pro early. You have have to be VERY elite for a team to draft you 1st round.
