I believe he is still waiting on his NBA evaluation to get back to him.

Depends on where you are at. In Italy, yes. In Ireland, No.

If he was smart and according to every scout/analyst I've heard talk, he should come back.

The average salary is $65000 overseas. To him that may sound better than coming back to school.

He's probably focused on the $$$$$ now or $$$$$ later.

He'll take the now. Not many athletes are committed to winning a title at the college level but more of the "if it happens, it happens." College is a place to showcase what they got and the goal is to get paid for being good at a GAME.

Disagree.

People forget that His brother, James Wright WR Bengals, is in the NFL and made $400,000+ his rookie year and is scheduled to make $500,000+ his 2nd year.

So IMO based on that Mickey should be in no rush to get his NBA money, and should continue to develop his game in college to drive his stock up in the NBA.

Last time I checked neither of my more well off siblings were paying my living expenses. I guess I'm missing something?

I posted this on a headline article but I'm going to post it here as well...

If he can improve his draft stock to be a first round pick after another year at LSU he will have a much higher paying contract/signing bonus than he will this year as a late round pick.

As a late round pick he's going to get less money and have much more competition to resign. He will always have competition to resign but if he stays and raises his draft stock, he'll make first round pick money. There's a big difference between $8 mil. vs. $800k.

I honestly think he can make more money in the NBA if he stays another year.

I get the sense that Mickey and his family decided well before this season that he was going to enter the draft at the end of the season. The only thing that has changed is that they probably are now realizing that being drafted, period, is not the "slam dunk" they might have thought it was at the beginning of the year.

Still, I think they are waiting to get the evaluation from NBA scouts. IMO, unless they hear something along the lines of "it's not likely that he will be drafted at all", I think he goes. Even a report of him being a "possible" 2nd rounder will be enough for him to go. The dad already said in an interview that they think he can improve is stock in pre-draft workouts. That may not be the case, but it would likely be enough for him to justify his decision to leave
