To be honest, I think JL has a better chance in the NFL as a QB than JJ and RS. He was only a red shirted FR, played only 2 years in HS as a QB, and will have 3 more years to improve on his reads.

JL could be a Dan Marino in the future (quick release, no mobility).

Troy Aikman sucked as a rookie in Dallas and he is a Hall of Famer now. Don't count Lee out yet. The kid bleeds purple and gold, ya'll.

Give him a chance.

Unless JL made a tremendous improvement in reading defenses I don't see how this will even hold water. Not to mention he don't have a long leash like he had last year. He'll be getting mop up time unless JJ just completely falls apart.

I think that is one of the stupidest things ive ever heard...not once have I ever had a private conversation with an lsu fan and had their legitimate opinion on who should play come down to race...if anything black players get the benefit of the perception as "better natural athletes"...this whole racism thing is lame, whatever the percentage of racist fans exist (white or black or whatever) it is a very very very small percentage.

It was just two years ago when the fricking purple and gold confederate flag was a hot topic and there were game-day marches on campus. The week after the article in The Reveille the number of flags quadrupled. Don't tell me it's a small minority.

Watching the practice on film, JL looks the best throwing the ball.. Garret looks impressive also

Shep looks good throwing shorter passes..

Jefferson looks great at times and others, very inaccurate...maybe it was the receiver taking the wrong angle? dunno..

I like JJ starting..maybe JL get some series..and Shep gets his chance at running option type packages

That's what put's JJ way ahead of JL, his ability to look off the safety, to go though his progression and to be able to get out of trouble with a scramble. Just count how many times he does it in the highlights. It's better to throw a wobbly ball to an open guy than a perfect spiral directly to the opposing team. Maybe JL can learn these things given time but he don't know them now.

maybe Gary crowton and LM read the rant so they can tell JL to start looking off safties, going through his progressions, scrambling or throwing it away ectectect.....

Are some of you that niaeve or arrogant to think you know more than these coaches do? ITs last years problems, a redshirts fresh porblems, MAYBE JUST FUKING MAYBE they HAVE BEEN working on it. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.

Some of you should really get the frick over last years qb problems and look forwd to this yr.
I have a sneaking suspecion JL is gonna be much MUCH improved. For 2 reasons...
#1 JL is a smart kid
#2 We have qualifed coaches that know WTF is going on.

And YOU should really get over the fact that JL won't even have the opportunity to get over his problems unless JJ just forgets how to play football by then. Your obsession for this kid is really quite creepy.

What he said

JL has an SEC arm and an NFL release. His problem was not poorly thrown balls but balls that should never have been thrown.

JJ has more athletic ability. I would like to see some mechanical improvement in his delivery. He clearly made much better choices last year than JL.

Remember one of the qualities Flynn and Mauck shared is they generally did not beat LSU. That is what JJ showed in his brief time last year and what JL needs to master.

I think it will be fun to see what improvements they have made. Stir in RS and this will be interesting(I watched some high school video on RS and his arm did not impress my untrained eye).

I dont know how to rationalize things with a person such as this.

God forbid JJ "forgets" how to play football.... poor JL should just leave.
Some of you people are so stupid and one sided, its gone from being stupid, to old, to now its down right comical.
and as far as the obsession goes, your obsession for him not to play again is a tad bit more creepy than me believing he will improve.

JMHFUKINO though.

How did I know this thread would turn into a Lee vs. JJ thread?

Both sides of this argument are fricking retarded.

You want us to use 3 different quarterbacks in a game? I see how they all bring different skills to the field, but I think this would lead to too many problems.

JJ is our starter after 3 games this controversy
will end. During spring JJ has been getting all the reps with the starters.

He will start v. Washington and the entire season barring injury.

Also, a lot of people thought that because Jamarcus made those "stupid" decisions as a sophomore in '05, that he was destined to do it in '06 and '07 as well. They did not allow for the possibility that he could get better. And I came to his defense almost exactly like I am doing Jarrett Lee in that respect.

Good point.

I think as fans we bring the racism question in more than the coaches do.

I think Miles just wants to put the best qb on the field that gives him the best chance to win.

If it were me that is what i would do because in the big picture it is all about winning and you put the best players on the field to do that.

JR and Flynn were the perfect contrast to qb styles but both were good and bad in different ways.

I do think Lee will improve with maturity just like everyone does. But so will JJ and the one that improves the most will play.

Why argue i think it is great we have such talent to choose from. White , black, or purple and gold with pink polkadots .

I am glad we have Miles making those decisions and not some fans with agendas.

And for the record it is a shame that people on here critisize J. lee as much as they do because he was thrown into a situation that he wasnt ready for.

And for the record i think JJ is going to be a Great One at QB. He has things that JR didnt have and all the things jr had he has as well.

Basically i am happy we are loaded at QB now whereas last year we were young and inexperienced.

Would you rather be bama heading into the season with a young oline and an inexperienced qb.

True...but so was JJ. Even though he didn't win against the Hogs, he still put enough points up to where we should have won. He played well and was very poised. JL looked scared and confused most of the time. Although, I think the offensive play calling did not suit JL, which did make problems worse for him. We could have been a lot more creative with the run game with Holliday, Scott, KW, and RM. Instead, we kept putting pressure on JL to throw the ball...and make passes he was not comfortable with. He may end up being pretty good...but he's got a long way to go. I think the competition will be good for him.
