With all this excitement and new staffing, what are the chances we move Ensminger & Jenkins to an Administrative/Shadow staff role and go after a top-flight DL coach ( I know Jenkins is a legend but someone who will go out and recruit) and another TE coach (again, I know how great Ensminger did with the offense but how is he as a recruiter)?

I actually think that Jenkins not being able to recruit has some positives. When recruits see that he is out working with NFL players and coaches, it will make them feel like he can get them on the right track to the NFL.

Why didn't Mathis and Wilson feel that way about Jenkins?

Because Mathis wanted Alabama from the start. And Wilson always had great things to say about Pete and coach O, we just lost out on him to Florida State

Show me one quote where Wilson said anything about Jenkins?

Unlike Mathis, Wilson isn't trying to put spin on his decision.

You guys DO realize that we can only have six out of the nine coaches out on the road recruiting, right? And when your head coach is a defensive line coach by trade, it makes sense not to have two defensive line coaches out recruiting. You would rather him be out recruiting instead of which other coach? WR? RB? OC? DC? LB? OL? That doesn't make any sense at all and you guys who have latched onto that narrative are just looking for a new way to keep voicing your displeasure with the Orgeron hiring.

Next thing you'll be seeing on here is that LSU is racist.

You frickin serious?

We need a huge shadow staff like Bama. That is how you get the edge in recruiting, marketing, game planning, etc. They have a full corporation behind the scenes.

Yea. Let's keep doing what we're doing.

It's obviously getting us somewhere.

Bama just got the #1 class for the 5-6th year in a row, play in the playoff every year, and just raided Louisiana, but God forbid you try to mimic something that obviously is working.

I hope some of you don't own businesses.

Im sure the whole dominating recruiting thing has more to do with Saban than any shadow staff but, hey hire everyone we can and find some administrative role for them.

I feel like Coach O knows that Les held on to non performing coaches too long and that directly contributed to his dismissal (I mean you would have to lived under a rock not to at least suspect). He has said that he would put together the best staff in the country. He is off to a good start with Canada after locking down Aranda. He gave Craig the recruit coordinator job, but obviously wasn't happy with the job he did either in recruiting or on the field or both. He quickly moved to remedy that at the earliest time feasible... which was after NSD. Jaluke was reassigned also right after NSD and as an administrator he can still maintain his NOLA High School ties until such time that takes another job. If he doesn't take another job, he will get to continue learning the nuances of what it takes to recruit and coach at a high pressure top college and be ready should he be needed again on the field. He obviously does have a higher affinity for both Ensminger and Jenkins. Jenkins I feel is a short time stop gap replacement. I do feel like he will be replaced either after Spring or soon after the Season which to allow a recruiting DL coach to come in and help with next years class. Ensminger may have more latitude and it will be interesting to see how he is handled. I also think firing 4 coaches this week with spring practice nearing would have put LSU behind in preparations for next year. Having some continuity is important as LSU will not have near as many returning starters this year as last year.

Has nothing to do with Miles or any of that stuff. Had we hired from the outside, the new coach would have let most of these coaches go, save Aranda. Coach O is building his own staff like any new coach would.

What I meant that people have always criticized Les for holding on to nonperforming coaches like Cam. I think that was an obvious lesson and one he learned as evidenced by immediately letting go of Cam and Peveto. Moving Jaluke and firing Craig also appears to fit in this category.

Maybe, but it's fricking stupid regarding Jenkins. The one thing he does best--the one thing that made him a legend--was his hands-on, on the field coaching. And y'all want to stick him in a fricking office?

Doesn't have to be in an office. He can go back to being retired.
