Nola(s)

The older brother didn’t run into the Z’s clubhouse to find out what his little brother did. In fact, he didn’t think about his little brother at all.

quote:

“I didn’t want to know; I didn’t want to check,” Austin Nola said after Tuesday’s 9-0 Zephyrs loss to the Redbirds. “I wasn’t thinking about it at all.”

quote:

As for himself, Austin Nola still has a chance to make it to the majors as well. Currently, he is hitting .325 with a possible chance for a September callup

the Phillies play the Zephyrs’ parent club, the Miami Marlins, six times in the last two weeks of the season.

I'm sure that it's said in the game thread, but the homerun that Aaron Nola gave up last night was a first.

quote:

It was the first time since 1994 a pitcher in his MLB debut gave up a home run to the opposing pitcher, and the only time in major league history a 1-0 interleague game was decided by a homer by the pitcher for the American League team.

he allowed one run in 6 innings in his first mlb start...it doesn't really matter how that run was scored
