I could easily see it being Sumlin. Last year they were the big underdogs at the beginning of the season, everybody saying they couldn't hang in the SECW, etc. Then they go off and be excellent, have the first freshman Heisman, and beat the national champions.

Almost can't blame Sumlin for saying something like this. Just can't wait until he settles into the conference groove and sees just how hard it is

I remember the first time I heard THE OFFICIAL LSU IS IN STEADY DECLINE NARRATIVE in September 2005. And how it was in full bloom in 2008 and throughout 2009, 2010 and 2012.
We have been in such steady decline for so long now that I am very, very dishappy.
The only solution is to set our hair on fire.

The only team he didn't "get" was LSU...so that doesn't necessarily indicate Saban

So who has recently gone 13-0 and won an SEC title? I can't even include Alabama in that conversation

Depends on how you define recently. Within the last 5 years both Alabama and Auburn did it, that seems kinda recent to me, and they managed to win the BCS title game after doing it, so....

Remove the names Mettenberger, Cameron and Chavis from that quote, and it's the same thing that has been said since 2005.

They lost a lot of players. In my opinion, there’s a slow, steady decline of that program. Athletically, they can reload up front. But developing fundamentally sound players, that takes time, time they might not have this year. So, I’m not sure they can recover that quickly. Zach Mettenberger, to me, is very average

I bet this was Mother frickin Mark Richt

Well we know he wasn't talking about his own program, because there's nothing slow about Georgia's decline.

If Nutt or Tuberville were still on the SEC I'd say one of them...otherwise who gives a damn.
Just keep winning and piss 'um off !
