Same here. Brother in law has a cast iron old toolbox that he converted into a smoker. That thing makes some of the best ribs I've ever had.

you cant be cordial with Ben unless you have blind loyalty to O and Ensminger.
you can be cordial for a couple of days but as soon as you post something that doesnt show O as a God like coach he will call you pathetic and agree with other posters that are making personal attacks towards you.
there is ONE way to consistently be cordial with Ben and that's by gargling O's nuts 24/7.

I haven't cared for ben's style of posting for as long as I've been aware of him.But there was a lot of back and forth name calling going on between a few of us the other night and for a split second, I felt kinda bad for the guy.

Big mistake on my part.

You're absolutely right Rick. The only way to have a cordial relationship with ben is to pledge blind loyalty to o and Ensminger, heap nothing but praise on every move they make and attack everyone that questions them.

NO THANKS!

birdman, you trying to be like me or what? I smoked a rack of spare ribs and baby back ribs on the smoker for 6 hours as well. Also had burgers, hot dogs and sausage on the gas grill. I also had my niece and nephew over along with mom, sis, brother in law, daughter and one of her friends. I was stuffed. We had potato salad, baked beans and fries as well. Maybe that's why I'm up at 3 in the morning.

This sounds bad arse. I just have the regular 55 gallon drum smoker with the part for the charcoal and wood on the side. But, it does ribs, brisket, pork loin and drunken chicken really good.

This thing is freaking heavy. He got a partial side cut out with an acetylene torch then mounted it back with some heavy duty chain links, but not like regular chains, more like something you'd see on a motorcycle. But way stronger. So he opens that flap, or closes it, to regulate the amount of wind to burn the coals.

It's awesome. Seriously. I've never had a bad rack of ribs off that thing. The iron body retains heat as well so it acts kind of like an oven.

Ehh.... I can grill pretty good. I'm no master. I do make some absolutely amazing steaks with the searing station on my gas grill though. Some how I've figured it out to the point that when we go out for steaks they aren't as good as what I make it home. I think it's just luck that I stumbled across a "formula" for doing it.
