Andy Reid on Mike and Mike just said that Matt Canada might be the best new offensive mind in football. All the different formations and movements to run the same play

**changed it for all the juveniles on the site*** and there are plenty of those.

Was just coming on here to see if anyone else heard that. Good stuff. I've been a little hesitant to get as excited as everyone else because Canada has bounced around so much. This is quite the endorsement though.

He's never been a bad coordinator when he was actually allowed to run his offense without interference. That's why he was let go at NCST but the head coach got fired the next year without him so. I think Canada is going to be a fine coordinator and hopefully bring an offense maybe similar to what we ran with Flynn in 07

Canada was a good hire, but I love how everyone knows all of the details about his work habits and relationships at his prior stops, then make things up out of thin air to support whatever talking points they've heard in the media.

I thought it was just a phenomenon with the Alleva search process / O hire, but apparently it's still needed even when the coach's resume can stand on its own.

While watching the 1st qtr of the Chiefs vs Steelers playoff game I thought to myself their offense looks like it's being called by Matt Canada. There was a lot of motion, they ran an inside shovel to Kelce on one play, and on the score I think it was a fake zone read with a motion Z and pass to the back coming out of the backfield.

Why did Any Reid bring up Matt Canada? Were they talking college fb at the time?

They were talking about the evolution of football since Reid has been in the league and how most of the motions and shifting has come from college coaches needing to create mismatches. He then said Canada is the best at doing that. I'm paraphrasing of course.

Wow! That's awesome for Canada and LSU. And it's a credit to Andy Reid too, for doing his homework and keeping up with changes in the game of football even at the college level.

If anyone has bothered to research the guy as a coach, they'd know. Not at all surprised Reid would have that opinion. Canada has run different schemes at different places and has done it well. He can run any type of offense with creativity and aggression, molds the scheme around the players he's got to work with. He's smart enough to know the only stat that matter is scoring points. He will find ways to run and he will find ways to throw.

He's the offensive version of Aranda. He's creative, aggressive, fearless, and flexible. Great hire by Orgeron

For the guy trying to downplay Reid's comments, it's not people making anything up. It's all been documented. Go research it. Look at why he "bounced around" and the circumstances involved. That's all documented and it was documented as it was happening, well before he had any connection to LSU. It's all documented record that you can research for yourself if you want proof.

The guy is a tremendous offensive coordinator. Period

That's pretty awesome praise. What's the relationship there? Is this just a coaching cirlce type thing? Or do they know each other well? That's pretty random.

Awesome for Canada. All of us LSU fans will be sweating bullets if/when Reid has to hire a new OC in the future, though...

Doeren is still at NC State and Canada's firing was more for the sake of change IMO since Doeren has been on thin ice.

I've only seen reports of Bert interfering with his playcalling at Wisconsin.

No one downplayed Reid's comments. I absolutely downplayed the comments by the poster I replied to. It's very unlikely I'm the one that needs to research anything, since I already knew

as the poster above pointed out.

As I said, it was a good hire. But it's hilarious that people who had never heard of him before December now think they know everything about him, and have even resorted to making things up as they go.
