I read it. I agree. Bigger question is why are so many people here so against reading?

It is a fairy-tale land that you live in when you do not question Miles simply because he "forgot more football than you know." While the latter is certainly true, it does not guarantee that everything Miles does pertaining to football is correct.

Also doesn't guarantee that everything Miles does pertaining to football is incorrect just because people are overly critical.

quote:

There are supporters who would never criticize Miles for the Dual-Defensive Coordinator disaster until Miles himself admitted the mistake and fixed it.

I'm not sure there's any fan, anywhere that agreed with the move. Even the most positive were skeptical at best and quickly in the "change it now" boat.

quote:

The same concept is rearing its head again with our QB situation. Despite qualitative and quantitative proof to the contrary, Sunshine-pumpers continue to agree with Miles that he is doing the right thing with the QB situation.

Maybe 2 weeks ago people thought the dual-QB thing was right, but again, I think the decision is unanimous that Lee should get 90% of the work at least.

Most of the fans see the writing on the wall
We have been hearing that around here for a while now. First, the "writing was on the wall" about the program being in decline. Now that we are back near the top 5, the "writing is on the wall" about specific coaching decisions. You have no idea what the game-plan is, what match-ups the coaching staff is trying to exploit and how players are responding to the game-plan at practice during the week yet you can see the writing without opening the book. What else does your crystal ball tell you.

That being said, I think Miles will adjust barely enough...and LSU will go 14-0 and win the national championship this year.

Do you know how fricking hard it is to win the National Championship? Do realize you have to have crazy talent, get several lucky bounces, win every close game, have your team motivated and up for every game, and you're STILL competing with 110+ teams who are trying to do the exact same thing? And at any given moment, there's about 8-15 teams with the same talent as you, even if you're loaded.

You act like you just stumble into winning the National Championship and that Les Miles will somehow fumble his way into winning the whole thing and that it'll somehow be accidental or cheapened because Miles is the head coach. It's a lot harder to win the BCS than it is to win a Super Bowl. The entire college football season is a 13 week playoff system.

You are correct, your letter is too long.

Slackster, A quote for you:

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Keep your negative bullshite to yourself and let us normal humans enjoy the season.

I read it. I enjoyed it. And to answer a few other peoples' question, the reason this needs to be posted now is so that if you waited until after they lose, people would say, "Well, now you say that."

I never have understood the logic of "But, we're 7-0", or "it's working". Teams can always improve. LSU could be 7-0 with the mascot Mike the Tiger playing cornerback, but that doesn't mean he makes our defense the best that it can be.

Do the slightest post history on me and you will see that I am without a doubt one of the more positive posters on this board.

quote:

You have no idea what the game-plan is, what match-ups the coaching staff is trying to exploit and how players are responding to the game-plan at practice during the week

I can assure you that I am more informed than you regarding the players and how they are responding to this particular issue.

quote:

Who the frick do u expect to read all that?

Obviously not everyone, hence letting you know it is long before clicking on it.

quote:

I will never understand why some people get so butt hurt about other people enjoying an undefeated team

For God's sake, where or when have I talked about not enjoying the current 7-0 record. I love the fact that we are undefeated. This letter simply and very specifically criticizes those who defend Miles' decisions based on the SOLE idea that he knows more than him, so he is ALWAYS right. I never said everyone or even most people are like that. But Jesus, if the shoe fits, by all means you should wear it.

quote:

You spent way too much time on this.

Yes.

quote:

I'm pretty sure everyone agrees Les is making a mistake with the 2 QB system.

A quick search of page 1 on the Rant says otherwise.

quote:

What are you going to do if we beat auburn? still complain about Miles? Still complain about the system?

I am complaining about the people who support this decision based on the idea that Miles is infallible because he is head coach. As dumb as that sounds, people on the Rant have said that NUMEROUS times in the last couple of weeks. As far as the system goes, it sucks and I certainly cannot change it, which I have accepted. However, the pumpers argument is getting old and the logic is flawed, and that is what I was calling out in this letter.

quote:

You're comparing Les Miles' decision to use two quarterbacks to: Slavery Prohibition Napoleon's invasion of Russia Hitler

Really? I am about 100% certain that I prefaced Miles' decision as relatively insignificant to those blunders. However, those mistakes highlight the logical flaw in the argument of most sunshine pumpers, so their mention in this thread is viable.

quote:

I contend that you are not a realitiger. A realitiger would have memory longer than 4 weeks. He would accept the fact that JLee has made fatal errors in the past

quote:

but to ignore the past is the opposite of reality.

Of course I remember 2008-2009. I also remember that Lee has been able to mature since then, thanks in large part to Jefferson taking the load off of his shoulders. However, during that time, Lee has improved markedly from his freshman campaign. Jefferson slowly retrogressed in 2009, and that deterioration has hastened in 2010. I am not, nor have I ever been contending that Lee is All-SEC. However, quantitative evidence in 2010 shows that he is the best option we have at QB, by a relatively large margin, and he should play the most.
