I don't think anyone cares that the kid is black.
I think people are a little salty that he is getting 5 years to accumulate the points instead of 4 like everyone else (or 3 like Pete). Its not the kids fault that he happened to play during Covid and was granted an extra year but I do think that even if he breaks it, there should be an asterisks that says he was allowed to play an entire extra season.

You're the only person that has mentioned race in this entire thread and last time I checked, TD posters are pretty loose with their race relation takes. So if it was about race, this would be ground zero for that to be the case.

He wouldn’t tarnish anything. There will come a time that some player may break the total points…but nobody and I mean nobody will ever come close to averaging over 40 ppg three straight season in college EVER.

I get why LSU fans want the record to stand, but it’s going to be broken at some point. Is there any evidence that this young man is a PoS or something? Pistol Pete is still going to be an all time great with or without this record.

I’m rooting for the kid. Him breaking it, gives way more positive attention to Pistol. No one besides Tiger fans have talked about or glorified Pistol Pete for years.
