This. Although I always believed there had to be a certain amount of frustration at having to play the gumps again.

I don't care what he has to say. He was a good representative for LSU. As far as 2011...that team reached its peak right before Jordan Jefferson was allowed back on the team. Once he was allowed back the offense started to flounder and the offense got predictable again the more he played the worse the offense got.

The 2011 offense was doing so well. I would have loved to see Lee get a chance to finish at Bama. In hindsight had lsu lost at Bama we would have gotten the rematch in our home state with a totally different motivation factor.

I think that had Miles put JL in the game, we'd have won. I absolutely love CLM, but I will NEVER understand his thought process and lack of at least trying something different when plan A didn't work.

Goodness my head hurts reading the rant. The greatest accomplishment Lee ever had against Bama was one wide arse open pass to Randle against their worst team in the past five years. What in the hot hell made you believe that we had any chance with Lee at QB? Please be logical with your answer and not "just a feeling", or "try someone else". The next best idea was to run the damn wildcat. If we had placed Lee in before the game, it would have been a lost cause before it started.

Ok man, Lee was scared shitless and was actually starting to set THEM up with pretty good field position. And we wouldn't have been given the same treatment that Bama got. It would've been Bama and OSU.

He answered the question as directly as it can be answered. Why anyone would not believe his respond considering he was clearly disturbed by not getting in the game as was his dad is a mystery to me.

lol wut

JJ was back for game 5. We were throttling SEC opponents in the weeks to come after that. Maybe you could say we peaked right before Jefferson was named the starter.

We would have lost. The only reason we won the GotC was because Jefferson could run the option and Alabama wasn't prepared for it. Lee was awful.

Doubt we get a rematch.

You know T-Bob is a Jarrett Lee guy, but I agree with him saying that both QBs had their strengths and they could have been successful as dual quarterbacks. Certainly will never understand Lee not getting any snaps in the UGA or Alabama games at the end of the season. I think Jefferson was a needed piece on the team, but not in the capacity that Miles used him.

I'm like many others on here that I don't think I will fully recover from 1/9/12 until LSU wins a natty again or Alabama goes on like a 5 game losing streak to LSU. That season was magical as a freshman at LSU but ended as a nightmare that will scar me for a long time. I think I honestly handle LSU losing a lot easier since that game just because none of them will ever hurt as much as that one.

That one hurt, but I pretty much blacked out. Like, not even from alcohol, just blacked it out because it was so bad I guess. It is all a blur. I was on the 2nd row and I could only tell you like four plays the whole game. I have been to a ton of games in a row and I can tell you about 10 or 15 plays from all the big games I've been to recently. But not that game.

It hurt, but I could fall back on how amazing of a season it was. That was the best team we've ever had, and you have to appreciate that. Florida in 2012 is probably still the toughest loss I've ever taken as a fan.

ETA: LSU really should have won the national championship in 2012 if you look at the course of how everything was going. At the time, I thought we'd be okay when Mathieu got kicked off the team. But looking back, we really missed his playmaking. We were great in 2011, and obviously had a great shot at the national championship, but you could argue we were a year early. I really thought we were going to get it in 2012.

Either way, 2011 and 2012 LSU were two great teams that I'll remember forever. Two of the greatest teams in school history.

God you people are miserable fricks. Not one player has stated anything happen. Its just the Miles haters that choose not to believe it. They want so bad for something to have happened.

This thread cements how insanely stupid our fan base can be at times. An ex player who would have every reason in the world to come out and blow the lid off of any conspiracy flat out says nothing happened, and some still aren't convinced.

It's probably time to cash in on my time machine/invisibility cloak hybrid.

I still thinks it's wild that grown men are still not over this game. We're not at practice, have zero play calling abilities, and our thoughts don't go into game planning. I could see as a true fan being frustrated until the next season started but holding on this long is crazy.

Bartman

Buckner

Webber

There are just things sports fans can never get over, and this one is ours, and it's totally understandable. Attaching a conspiracy theory to it is what puts it over the edge.

If Alex Gonzalez doesn't botch an easy double play ball Bartman is in the clear. I'm a cubs fan and I'm putting the blame on the pros.

Bartman wasn't the only one reaching for that ball.

Anyways, a beatdown like that is something that will eat at most Tiger fans for a long time. I'm focused on the current team, but thinking back on that night makes me cringe hard. I work with a few obnoxious bama fans, so that doesn't help either.
