Am I the only one who would be comfortable with Coach O sticking around?

Give me reasons why, if we win out, or only lose 1, he shouldn't be made HC.

He is not proven as a head coach and has been fired from HC gigs before

The reasons why are it depends upon who you can get..

He's ideal for this situation.. but not sure about outside of it. He's not really a proven HC..

Those are your two reasons.

If LSU can get a dynamite coach to come in, even he would understand. All he is asking is to be be giving a fair look.. I think even he would understand, depending upon who would be interested..

I'd be fine with it, provided we could land a good OC

We're looking to win big every year - not just one year. When Coach O had a head coaching opportunity before in the SEC, it went as bad as it could go. I think he could give us a spark this year with all of this talent, but next year we may require more development when we lose a lot of players. Has he proven that he can develop guys on all parts of the field and manage a program?

if coach O goes 8-0 or 7-1 with this mess it would be "southern cal stupid" to get rid of him.

If this team goes 7-1 it will really make people realize just how checked out Miles was

He's not the best we can get. And when you spend 13m on a buyout, you follow that with the best coach you can find.

You wouldn't get rid of him. You'd hope to keep him as an assistant head coach/D-line coach and recruiter. But you'd have to ask yourself if he is the only guy who could have done what he did with LSU's talent and ask yourself what he would do with inexperienced teams. 8-0 and he's in the conversation at least for another year though if they couldn't get one of their top 3 choices.

If he does really well, I would be comfortable with it. He hasn't been stellar as a head coach, but did well as interim at USC. He does have experience, and hopefully he learned from it all.

He's the perfect charismatic Louisiana character replacement for the character that was Les Miles.

I'd be fine if he were a figurehead coach who hires an outstanding OC while retaining Aranda and the defensive staff and stay out of their way.

However, my first option is to retain CEO as DL/recruiting coordinator and hire Aranda's up & coming old buddy Tom Herman.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Don't drink the kool aid.

Press conference wins don't mean nothing on Saturdays.

Conduct a real HC Search and hire the best available candidate.

Brains over Emotions!!!!
