Is alleva the culprit for giving les this stupid contract and buyout?

If I remember correctly, it was when Arkansas was looking for a coach, all of the sudden Miles popped up with the contract of all contracts out of the blue. Sucks now. Absolutely no pressure on him at all. If everyone gets mad enough at him, he'll get a $15m paycheck. And remember, all of that $15m would come directly out of fans' pockets.

No. Alleva is a feckless stooge, but anyone who really thinks an AD is the boss of a big name coach is kidding himself. Les makes 8 times as much as Alleva and at one time could have easily had him removed if he felt like it. ADs only have power over football when the coach is a walking dead man.

Buyout is NO issue relative to Miles being fired. They are negotiated. Not like he walks out on last day with a 15 mill deposit slip. It will be negotiated, possibly litigated, drawn out, spread out etc. and handled by people "behind the curtain". The decision on Miles will rest on if he has made the right alliances with the right people.
