The LSU Board of Supervisors will vote on the proposed extension at its next meeting next Friday, according to the group’s agenda. Alleva’s extension does not include a raise. He makes $725,000 with incentives that could push his salary to $900,000.

Despite what some of the mouth breathers on here think, Alleva has been a very good AD for LSU and keeping him around is a good thing.

So he's not that highly paid compared to other ADs. Interesting.

-Maintained top football and baseball programs, and basketball hasn't had this much hype in 10 years
-Strengthened relationships with academic side with $$ while maintaining a healthy budget
-fundraising as strong as ever despite stagnant economy
-exceptionally well done facility projects either completed or in the works left and right
-Hired Beth Torina, Michael and Julia Sell, and Coach Jones. Has given current coaches the money to hire top flight assistants (Jay Clark, Ed O, etc.). i know Trent Johnson sucked, but every great AD makes hires that don't work out sometimes.
-Gymnastics, softball, women's tennis, men's golf have all become national programs
-Other than some bizarre hiccups in football, we've stayed clear of trouble
-I've never seen an AD advocate for LSU's best interest more than him

This is a no-brainer and very much deserved. We continue to become elite in more sports each season. We are top to bottom the strongest we've ever been as an athletic program (8 top 10 teams last spring alone).

He's also a very good person. I hope he stays at LSU for a long time.

Do you think Joe set the ticket prices last week?

I think he's being sarcastic

Ironically the "average joe's" who feel like they're priced out of games sure weren't beating down the door to go to last week's game, which was on a beautiful day against a conference opponent no less

Ditto. Bingo. A thankless, difficult, time consuming incredibly political job. It should pay twice as much.

Okay, and the entire UVA administration handled their rape case just as bad. I'm sure you think the administration of quite possibly the best university in the South are all incompetent and know less than you, amirite?

Or what about Ed Orgeron? Should we write him off because of his history of drinking? I'm not sure about you, but I think Coach O is a great guy who's phenomenal at what he does.

But sure keep dwelling on something that barely anyone remembers anyways. Pretty sound rantard logic if I've ever seen it.

People who complain about ticket prices have no clue what other programs charge. We are very competitive in our ticket pricing.

Joe has made some incredible hires and we have tons of sports doing better than they ever have. Gymnastics, golf, softball, etc. Basketball is hot, football is roaring, and baseball is pumping in talent and making it to Omaha.

Not to mention our facilities are much better than when he started and continually improving.

And the AD makes such a surplus they donate millions to academics every year.

Its asinine to think he has done a poor job.

Was able to sit with him in the ad box for the Friday game against a&m last year. He and his family were so nice and seemed very down to earth. I have no problem with him leading lsu through what is so far our golden age in athletics as a whole
