Guys, Mahtook was great, but I think some of you are forgetting how good Holt was. Career avg .350, 240 hits, .393 in 2004 Mikie Career avg .343, 217 hits, .383 in 2011
Maybe you should check HRs and RBIs also

Factor in the bats
and Mikie still averaged almost 12 HR and 48 RBI while Holt averaged 4 HR and 30 RBI. I'll take Mikie all day

I'm fine with either I guess but I need to know where our relationship stands.
It's obvious we were never gonna work out. I'll have to introduce you to a friend of mine, JPLSU1981. He would be more of your type

rejection is always so hard. No matter how many times it happens, it never gets easier.

Yep, and SBs too.

I agree that Mikie belongs.

I was just sticking up for Holt because we as fans tend to remember only the most recent stars in these discussions.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Holt was a great all around player. However, I'll take Mikie 100% of the time

These '"omaha era" threads tend to pop up because 99% of lsu baseball fans are lucky to name more than 2 or 3 guys that played before the 80s.

Looking at those names the first thing that comes to mind is just how difficult it is to make it to the Major Leagues.

Wasn't born before the '80s!!

My first player I could remember was Barry Manuel. I was 4-5!
