"The loudest, craziest place in college football. It once got so deafening during an Auburn-LSU game in 1988 that Tiger Stadium registered on a seismograph for 15-20 minutes. It’s since become known as the legendary “Earthquake Game.” Les Miles likes to say Death Valley is where dreams go to die. And when you see the tiger eye starting at you from the 50-yard line, it’s not hard to fathom."

I'm not extremely well-traveled by any means, but Death Valley on a Saturday night is still my favorite sporting event atmosphere. It just doesn't get any better for me, personally.

aTm at number 2. They just did a MASSIVE renovation. that place will be ROCKING. This could be the year they get their "monkey of their back. I could see us going 11-1 with that being our only lose.

I have been fortunate to go all over the world and I agree. There is nowhere I rather be than Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.

Tiger Stadium first gained notoriety as the most feared location for opposing teams in the NC year of 1958.

That reputation was solidified in the mid-80s when the Tigers won games in their first 10 appearances on ESPN, mostly at night in Tiger Stadium.

There are many nice venues in the SEC (Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, etc.), but nowhere else is the spirit of college football as intense as a tailgate-saturated, liquored up crowd on a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

I guarantee that if the Tigers have fallen to a level where they lose to USM, there will be plenty of other losses as well.

Whatever you may think of Miles, he's not Curly Hallman
