I do know Trea Turner is a top 5 pick this year in the MLB draft

You don't know that. Saying that anyone other than Carlos Rodon or Jeff Hoffman is a top 5 lock is premature.

I do agree that Turner will be drafted higher than Bregman when comparing their respective eligible draft years.

Sigh.

MLB.com has Turner listed as a top 5 prospect. So do many mock drafts. You can do yourself the favor and google it. SS, especially ones who can hit and can stay at SS at the next level are always over-valued and drafted high.

Bregman profiles as a 2B at the next level. I have no link for you, but it should be obvious that he isn't athletic enough to stay at SS at the MLB level. 2B are not drafted top 5. He'll be between 15-25 or so.

Trea Turner is a far superior SS to Bregman.

In that case I wonder why the College Baseball Foundation gave the Brooks Wallace Award to Bregman and not to Turner?

If a sentence could be an oxymoron, this would be it.

Maybe they don't listen in the Locker Room, maybe he feels like he needs to go public for them to understand.

Looking at the facts, one could conclude that Turner is probably a top 5 pick this year. Hell, a college SS from last year who probably can't stay at SS was drafted 8th and he is nowhere near the athletic prospect Turner is.

MLB.com lists him top 5, as do most mock drafts.

Bregman is like Aaron Hill. Will not be taken top 5. Will need to move to 2b. It's fairly obvious he isn't a SS at the next level.

And maybe this is not even about the team, who knows.

What really "belongs" on twitter? It's a social media platform.

Let the kid rant when he's fired up. He's more passionate about something that we are all (hopefully) passionate about also.

Of course anything can happen. If Turner has a similar year the way he has the past 2 years, he'll go top 5. If he gets injured, or has a terrible year, then he will go top 15.

Just saying. MLB clubs ALWAYS seem to reach for SS prospects.

The same reason ND and Bama and USC get more all americans and individual awards in CFB.

MLB scouts and almost anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that Turner is a superior SS prospect over Bregman. That's not to say Bregman is't great, but Turner beat him in every statistical category last year.

I already explained I put the "not by much" there because I knew boxtards would get their panties in a wad that I actually admitted a non LSU player was better than an LSU player.

In Stache's defense, barring something really unfortunate happening to Turner or him having a really down year, he is almost assuredly going to be a top 10 pick in June. Not sure why everyone is giving him such a hard time about that.

Of course not. If Turner has the year he is capable of having and scouts like him, in all likelihood he is a top 5 pick.

Even if he falls to 6-8, he'll be higher than Bregman in their respective draft years because Bregs will have to be drafted at a non-premium position.

I'm not mad about his assessment of Turner. I just think it's extremely early to say with certainty that Bregman will have to slide to 2B at the next level and for sure won't be a top-5 pick. He's played 1 season + 3 weeks.

Bregman speaks his mind on Twitter

Bregman chuckled when asked about the response he had gotten to what he said was "just a mood to go off on how I feel about baseball."

"Actually, I've heard about it a lot," he said Wednesday as he began preparations for the No. 7-ranked Tigers' game with Sacred Heart, the first of 10 games in 12 days. "People have told me they agree with me and love the passion."

I'm surprised you're coming to my defense, but THANK YOU. I meant no disrespect to Bregs, but anyone who follows baseball knows Turner is likely (obviously anything can happen between now and June) a top 10, if not top 5 pick with his bat and athleticism.

Agree 100%. I will say, just like lsu06 said above, that it is too early to say where Bregman's ceiling might be. I'm certainly not trying to jump in an argument about who is better, I just think Bregman's ceiling could be higher in another year and a half than it is today.
