I literally wrote the same type of note to them. The bleacher gestapo absolutely ruin any sort of fun atmosphere for the game.

The governor is making these decisions by the seat of his pants, with no warning and no pattern. My guess is a move to 50% caught them off guard. I was surprised when I heard it.

Also, keep in mind, more fans means more security, more concessions, more everything. These things take a bit to scale up.

Its indicative of the schools plan as a whole. Be unprepared, and make horrible decisions when the time comes

Uh this part where it says it could be weeks before we see a change in capacity. They could have seating plans ready for 25, 50, and 100 percent capacities ready to go. Yes the governor just announced it yesterday but many people have been expecting it to come. Couldn’t they have gauged the interest of season ticket holders before today? You can be proactive about those types of things instead of reactive.
I’m genuinely curious what part of the process to allow more people in do you think takes weeks to do that couldn’t be started until now?

I get that but I also think that LSU administration is more connected with the state than we are. I mean I saw stuff from BR media members last week hinting that they were expecting a change in capacity. I have to think that LSU gets somewhat of a heads up. But maybe you’re right and no one at LSU has any idea of what’s going to happen until it happens

Look I’ve been able to go to games this year so I’m not super worried about it. I just think that there are things they could have already done such as send out that survey to season ticket holders. If landmark doesn’t have enough people on staff to work baseball games then I guess that’s valid.
I also think there are season ticket holders that want to go to more than 15 games this year and they want the capacity change sooner rather than later. That’s why I think some people are bitching.

By "some people" do you mean just you and a handful of other idiots?

I think people want as many people in the stands as soon as possible. And I don’t think that’s an unpopular opinion around here.
Again I’m not really that mad about the whole thing. I am genuinely curious as to why it would take weeks to increase capacity. Others have said that it’s because other companies such as security & concessions don’t have the resources to increase that quickly. If that’s the case I’m not putting any blame on LSU. But if it’s because of things that LSU could have prepared for, then I think people have the right to be somewhat upset

I know they don't care because there's a wait list for season tickets every year but I'll quit buying if it continues. I'm not wearing a mask outside in the blazing sun.

I am pretty sure this just means that they want to see if any people who had opted out may want to opt back in again.

It doesn't require a "capacity change" for season ticket holders to get tickets for more than 15 games.

We were offered tickets to additional games over and above the original 15 games once it was determined there were unsold tickets to out of conference games following the first selection of tickets.

I bought tickets to an additional 12 games bringing my total number of games I'll attend this season to 27, so far. I also got tickets for two of my friends for 26 games.

The next step, according to the ticket office's emails, is we will be offered the opportunity to buy tickets to additional SEC games.

I just looked and there are hundreds of tickets still available on LSUtix.net on the LSU website. And many of those tickets are for grandstand seats, including Gold seats behind home plate.

So as of now, it doesn't require a capacity change to supply fans with tickets to games. Tickets are already available. So that may be why the Ticket Office isn't in a hurry to open additional seating capacity. The additional capacity probably won't be needed until the SEC games start.

Because the atmosphere affects whether some people want to go to sporting events or not. Why do you think so many people opted out of football tickets? They didn’t want to go to a game at 25% capacity.
Not say every game would sell out but there are people that are much more like to go to a baseball game with 6,000 people in attendance vs 2,500 people

So what’s the point in changing capacity at all this season? Why not leave it at 25% the whole year? There are tickets available for SEC games right now too so why would we need to increase capacity for those?
I don’t understand the problem with wanting an increase in capacity

Where do see tickets available for SEC games "right now"?

I only see tickets available for non-conference games on LSUtix.net.

Are you saying the Ticket Office doesn't want to increase seating capacity?

No I am saying that I understand why people think that LSU might not have been prepared to increase capacity if it ends up taking weeks for it to happen
