Alex Box '09 Dedication First Pitch Ball Auction in Atlanta

Tossed out on 2/20/2009 by S. Alex Box, namesake nephew of the WWII hero, to inaugurate the new stadium in what would become an incredible College World Series Championship season! The ball is dated and autographed by Box, current LSU Baseball Head Coach Paul Mainieri and 5-time National Champion Head Coach Skip Bertman.
Mr. Box, a resident of Augusta, Ga., personally donated this unique memorabilia item to LSU Atlanta to raise funds for the scholarship endowment fund that helps send Georgia high school students to attend LSU in Baton Rouge...many that are legacy kids of LSU alums.
This is truly a ONE OF A KIND piece of history that will be auctioned to the highest bidder at LSU Atlanta's annual crawfish boil on May 8, 2010. We have many good fans and collectors of LSU memorabilia in Atlanta, but we recognize the importance and value that this item offers for baseball collectors across the Tiger nation and want all who may be interested to have a chance to obtain it by offering email bidding.
COMPLETE INFORMATION AND HOW TO BID HERE
Please help us spread the word to raise as much as we can for our scholarship endowment! Thanks and Geaux Tigers!

That really is a one of a kind. I hope it gets a good price after all of that other stuff from the old Box was sold off recently. Would be a great topper for the items a serious collector may have already obtained.

This is awesome! I met S. Alex Box last year... he's a great Tiger fan. That First Pitch Ball will no doubt increase in value over the years. I'm looking forward to the auction... hope I get it!

Bid is now $650. High bidder is now a Tiger in Pascagoula MS. Making progress, we are hoping to crack four figures and touch all the bases for our scholarship endowment.
Please keep spreading the word about this one of a kind piece of LSU Baseball history.
