Alan Dunn is the reason that we are getting many of these pitchers who are choosing LSU over MLB (minors). AD coached Hess to where he is in YEAR 1. Why do we not see ESPN's headline as..."The man behind LSU's pitching success!" Aleva needs to give the real AD a 50% raise and long term contract. We have the best pitching coach in college baseball. Ask "Wild Thing" why he's hitting 97/98 and I'm sure he'd say AD. CPM gives credit to AD...but not enough.

Dunn is the man!

Great developer and a genuine person who cares about his players and loves LSU.

I was told here back in February that Dunn merely "rides the coattails of star pitchers who show up here and don't need any coaching"

I wish I could find that Rantarded post and give its author the proper credit. Maybe one of the dumbest things I have ever read here.

Dunn is just one of those guys who quietly gets the job done. I've heard him on the radio pregame show many times and he is a great interview. He is probably a cool guy to just sit and talk baseball with. I'm glad he is on our side.

Love me some Dunn man. He would be a great character in a baseball movie.

And probably has no interest in doing anything else. Aleva can either a) do his job and Dunn retires at LSU or b) we will eventually see another CBB team pursue AD and Aleva will look like the same REACTIVE knucklehead who's botched previous responsibilities.

Fun fact: He pitched against Barry Bonds in the '83 CWS.

If Dunn really wants to be a head coach somewhere, there is nothing Alleva or anyone else can do about it.

Read what Lange says about him, read what Nola says about him, and the list goes on. Hess just did an interview and said that Dunn worked on his kick, push, and stride and he was having to think about his mechanics earlier in the season. Those tweets have become natural so he let's it rip and his velo has climbed from 92 > 97 over the season. You rarely see any quotes from Dunn but when everyone was jumping on the "Wild Thing" "Out of Control" narrative, Dunn made it very clear that Hess is totally under control. I believe he said something like...you don't throw 97 with accuracy being "Crazy or Out of Control". I suspect that he's reeling-in Hess (the freshman pitcher) after this national media focus on "Wild Thing".

Interesting fact,he did not actually graduate from Alabama. Left for the draft after his junior year in 83. Finished his degree at UAB in 91.

Very nice tribute.

Big Ben made a point to say during the FSU game when the camera was on Dunn in the dugout how much he enjoyed talking baseball with him and complimented his pitching knowledge.
