Those bombs to Dural, let's be real here, were pretty amazing. He seems to have a grasp of ballistics and flight patterns that Mettenberger somewhat lacked. Mett was a fine QB, no doubt, and those frozen ropes were incredible... but we might actually have something more dangerous now.

There's no harm in optimism.

if we have something more dangerous now it's because our QBs are more mobile and can run when coverage is too tight instead of having to throw the ball away or taking a sack..

I'm serious... Mettenberger was never very good with bombs.

In his first year as a starter, Mett had trouble on deep throws.

I thought you were just a terrible political poster. You're actually well rounded in your failure.

I don't know why people in this thread act like Mett was godly at throwing the deep ball. I think he only had 1 completion of over 30-40 yards his entire first year starting here. He was awful with accuracy. Even last year when he would throw deep balls that required touch he wasn't exactly accurate. Jenning does show more touch on his deep balls but what limits him is he doesn't have Mett's arm. Mett often would just hailmary it up and overthrow the ball by 10 yards. I guess you guys seem to forget how bad he looked on the deep balls in the Ole Miss game. Just gave it to the S every single time even when Beckham had a step.

Mett was OKAY last year but awful the season before. Most of Mett's big throws last year are when he'd fire them in a direct line to the WR 20 yards and then let them get YAC.

It didn't end in his first year.

He does seem to have a better grasp of touch on the deep ball than Mett did in his first year but I would be ecstatic if he could ever be what Mett was last year.
