My issue is the money I've invested. Maybe that's what I should do is quit investing in athletics and give more to academics

Then you will just start melting about the university administration and state gvt higher ed decisions. Athletics is much less frustrating
living out of state now makes it less apparent since it isn't on the news here. Out of site, out of mind!

What he's done since is how he should be judged not by one special year. What do you think?

Again, fair assessment.

Look, CPM has been really good for us and you can't take 2009 away from him. However, fair or not, this program has higher expectations than probably anywhere else in the country.

It's a lot tougher to win in college baseball these days, but we're still the alpha dog in the sport when considering resources, talent and fan support. When you look at our recent postseason performances, 2009 can't be a perpetual safety net.

So we are sitting the most powerful right handed bat by light years, while we are struggling to score runs and have no protection for Diechman. Plus we are sitting Reid. Most people know that CPM is offensively challenged but this is just inexcuseable. Romero last year had the 3rd best home rum pct at LSU since the bats changed. You put him behind Diechman and you'd have the most powerful middle order in the SEC and maybe the country. The fact that this hasn't even been tried just speaks to how inept CPM really is.

Look at last year's stats again and they back this up. He had the highest Slugging % and was second in RBI, HR and multi-RBI games with 39% less AB than the leader, 7.

Yet he sits. He was going to start at DH today, but Coach went with his gut and started 24 after watching BP.

I'm pretty sure putting a .200 hitter (.286 obp) behind Deichmann would not put much fear into the hearts of opposing pitchers.

Romero's dad told me face-to-face that Jordan's torn labrum in his right shoulder hurts him when he swings the bat hard which is why his swings have been like a slap hitter.

That's why I asked multiple times if it's affecting his hitting and was told it's def not. If you don't realize that 25 at bats is in no way and accurate reflection of a hitters ability then go watch another sport. Romero was our most productive hitter in SEC play last year and had the best home run per ab numbers. He's as powerful as Diechman and there's not one single reason he shouldn't be in the batting order.

Do you mean except for having a torn labrum in his dominant shoulder?

You really should read the entire thread or at least the whole convo instead of jumping in at the end.

If it's March, it must be time. Team is garbage, series sweep coming. CPM sux, bring back Smoke, blah blah blah. So boring and predictable. Stop investing so much emotional energy in athletics.
Not quite as boring and predictable as the regular clique of Pumpers, MA's and the "That's Baseball" excuse makers, defending the Tiger Ra gods they worship. Just like clockwork, you can set your clocks by their regular appearances after every LSU loss.

BTW, LSU baseball performance in March is a very consistent predictor of what will go down in a Regional, SR or CWS. Same problems year after year, with one common denominator. Sure, they'll "Improve" by season's end, but it will be the SOS at crunch time.

Just like in football, some "Get It" and some don't. (As to the reality of the situation in baseball) That big snowball that we saw form after "21-0" and slowly gather momentum as it rolled downhill, is now active and doing so in baseball; like it or not....................

Madking, you're not very knowledgeable in basketball or baseball threads...

Good news is football is only 5 months away

Well that's the most ignorant post I've seen yet. Ive coached and played hoops at a higher level than you or anyone you know has. And saying I don't know baseball because I've been given two opposing reports on an injury just exposes your stupidity.
