it is amazing how long it takes to get a play called. and how does a team get a delay of game penalty following a time out?

there is something wrong with our OC. seriously. he's either indecisive as hell or he is a micro mgr and has to give 50 instructions along with the play call.

we won the game. we showed a LOT of improvement in certain areas, esp the lines of scrimmage and we actually threw some intermediate passes. we ran the ball particularly well.

but damn our offense is hard to watch.

so what was the penalty for? it was 5 yards and I didn't see nor did the refs say what it was for.

It was a 12 men in the huddle penalty out of the timeout.

Yea I'm watching the replay too, Florida is a horrible team. They game LSU the game. LSU didn't really do much to deserve the win.

LSU will win 2 maybe 3 sec games

That's been a problem of ours for years. We always take our sweet team getting plays in

My brother picked-up on the same concern. It also forces AJ to spend too much time being sure everybody was lined-up where they were supposed to be and not enough time reading the D.

PS: I think the flag following the TO was a substitution infraction - too many players.

With the OC in the booth it appears they are waiting till the last devensive set to send a play and then we have no time to set and execution is lacking because of the hurried state we have put them in.

It is because Les has final say so and approval of the audible. It has to come from OC through Les through Kragthorpe to signal in to Jennings.

waiting to see the D sounds like a good idea but i'm sorry our QB can't do that. with about 5 seconds for the qb to see anything it defeats the purpose if the D realigns. it sure seems to create problems for getting off a play. these problems should not be happening this late in the season.

Same thing happened to Bama late in the game Saturday. So, it's not just Les, even the Great lord Saban makes mistakes! Then, again, it couldn't have been Saban's fault!

First thing I noticed watching the replay...

That first sack of Jennings probably wasn't really a sack... it was a QB draw that got stuffed.

Then at the end of the game we were fortunate Jennings wasn't called for a fumble instead of that spike.

what I don't understand is the refs not calling a penalty on florida for delay of game. they simply wouldn't get off the ground. it wasn't a clear spike either but I would have really been pissed flagging us and not uf.

I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret, we all joke about our play book being written in crayons, but the reality is it is very complex. On most plays, the qb has to call the play at the line of scrimmage after reading the defense. We may not be passing the ball, but we have a thousand run checks built into the offense. If you want to know why Harris isn't playing, it's because he checks into the wrong running play way too often.
