then why start this shitty thread!
The point has been clearly laid out in the OP. It is very, very, very simple to understand. Using Harris worst game as "proof" he shouldnt start, makes no logical sense when Jennings worst game is in fact not as good. I was attacking that argument not who or should not be the starting QB

Harris' first start was much like JaMarcus Russell's in 2004 at Auburn. Both struggled mightily, and the team as a whole struggled early on.

Kids have bad days. JR never started another game that season.

He turned out fine later, but we had a proven QB track record under Saban/Fisher with Davey, Mauck, etc.

In the end, I think if we are losing poorly against Ole Miss, Les should just play Harris in the rest of the game and let him finish out the year. He needs the experience IMO, but Les will likely ride Jennings to a 7-5 or so record rather than go 6-6 and get Harris needed PT prior to next year.

AJ will probably start the rest of the season.....however, BH needs to get some PT as well and this is where the coaches have done a horribly shitty job. How big a lead is safe enough to get the man some reps? We're not lighting it up through the air anyways so what difference does it make if Harris or Jennings is handing off the ball.

while statistically you may be correct, logically you are completely incorrect. the LSU qb competition isn't a court of law. surely you know the coaches see much, much more of each qb and also actually get verbal FEEDBACK from each.

It is completely illogical to me

your logic is illogical. using stats on one performance only vs stats on one performance only and disregarding the actual content of the games and the factors above is not logical at all.

Jennings played bad, benched. Harris played bad, benched. Jennings skating by but helping win SEC games, still the guy, for now

it's as simple as this. but we have those that are 100% sure that Harris will never play again in his entire career and that Jennings is Miles pet and has pics.

questioning a coaches decision is normal but the way some set themselves up as "experts" and our coaches as "dunces" is stupid

Spin how you choose dad...but miles handling of QBs has been anything but logical for a good portion of his career at lsu.

No, because overall I think he has a better grasp of the playbook and feel of a college game right now

So basically you don't think Harris is ready either.

Wonderful thread.

Not sure we have a QB that would have been ready for Auburn. I really think the coaches are doing the best they can with what they have. Jennings does seem to be a little more comfortable.

Holy shite it's amazing how stupid people can be. It's so simple. Here are the facts.

1. Harris seems to have more natural ability than Jennings
2. Jennings is way farther along than Harris at understanding the offense and being able to make the pre-snap and post-snap decisions. He's improving on this, and he's getting close. Unlike what a lot of people on here think, Jennings is making progress, and he'll get it.
3. The coaches are smart enough not to attempt too many passes because they know they have zero chance with that strategy. Like one of the few intelligent posters keeps writing, why should we throw more when we suck at it?
4. When you attempt as few passes as LSU does you should complete a higher percentage. It's not correct that the coaches are putting the QBs in predictable passing situations. Sometimes it happens as it does to all teams. But our percentage is terrible even when we pass with the element of surprise.
5. As Les says, it's coming. Probably before the year is out, but definitely next year, you'll see an effective passing attack.
6. Harris probably is finished for the year barring injury. The only reason they ever tried him was on the outside chance he'd be a prodigy.
7. Not a fact, but my opinion is that Harris probably takes the job over the offseason but only if he advances faster than Jennings. They are not going to sit a QB who has the offense down for a more talented QB who doesn't.

tl:dr? F.U.!

Harris is still an unknown

What? He may be unknown to you, but not to the coaches who see him practice almost every friggin day.

BTW, the whole premise of this thread is stupid. Why should we care whose worse performance was worse? I have employees. I don't compare employees by thinking, "Okay, now which one's worst day was the best?"

I do not necessarily disagree w/ you, but if we lose another game, we should consider giving Harris more playing time, ready or not.

where is a 3 loss team going... we will need him ready for next year's opening.

we open w McNeese, but then have Miss St and Auburn in following weeks
